The Michi No Eki are the famous roadside stations. These are on local main roads and not on the expressways (toll roads). This one has a small shop selling boxed food and fresh vegetables. Also a very good Tourist Information booth with free fast WiFi. Nearby are affordable Onsen (hotbath).

This is still a nice rest area. The toilet and information center are nice and clean and the wifi works well. If you are traveling with a tent, however, this might not be the best spot to camp. It is mainly a large parking lot, loud due to the surrounding traffic and we didn't find any shelter or grass to pitch our tent on.
