we arrived at night, there was no one here,this is the closest point to go from this side, you cannot go up more as they only allow motorcycle (you can pay here to get a lift to the top of the montain 80 soles voth ways or 60 one way) or quadriciculum which is a tour that you have to book from Cusco. So that's why you cannot go further. it's a business.
there are toilets here, we didn't have to pay in the entrance as we arrived at night, but in the way back , around 10am, we payed 20 soles pp for entrance and 5 soles pp for road maintenance. Be aware!
We did the trekking at 7am, not many tourists and it was sunny, at 9 am it got crowded.

Report Check-InCame here later in the day. Someone must have called security on us. Four guys showed up with motorcycles to make sure we pay the entrance (which we would have anyway the next day). It was a quite night, but the whole ppace gives out really strange vibes. We did not really enjoy the visit at all.
Report Check-InThis is the last parking lot before the rainbow mountain. From there you walk up (it took us ~ 45 min). At the parking lot they sell food and drinks during the day, toilet available. If you don't want to walk there are motos (90 Soles pp) or horses to take you up. The road from Checacupe is in good condition, but narrow, if you drive up after 1 pm, almond no traffic. It took us 2:15 hrs up.
The altitude of the parking lot is 4.730 m (wrong indicated in the app).

Last parking before the walk for the rainbow mountain. If you decide to visit the site in the early afternoon, when all the collectivos leave, this parking is perfect for making the most of the site until sunset. The night was calm, some workers sleep here in their tents. On the other hand, we left early the next morning to avoid the flow of tourists and collectivos. No Claro signal.
