Description

Beautiful forest service campground with bathrooms, picnic tables and fire rings. We were here in November and it was free and we were alone. Good lake fishing, beautiful views of glaciated mt. Adams reflecting from lake, one of our favorite spots in the states we've been to yet.

There may be about 5 miles of well maintained gravel to go through to get here.

Like others mentioned, free camping once the season ends, that date is variable according to the locals.

Absolutely beautiful area, worth the drive.

road closed as of may 8th 2021. huge snowbanks on highway. I spent hours trying to get to mt. adams, trout lake is as far as you can go in any direction. google maps is wrong. we even took forest 4x4 roads to get back here and eventually had to turn around.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place. We spend a night there. The campground wasn't open yet but it has a day use area and a couple of places without snow to camp.
We could do half of the trail around the lake (because of the snow).
Another RV arrived to spend the night there.
The road from Trout Lake just been open, we are in an RV 26 ft and had no problems.

Report Check-In

The place is beautiful but unfortunately not for free. Camping is 18 Dollars, day use 5 Dollars.
