Bungalows Tropicana | Established Campground

We did not get a chance to camp here as our driving route changed along the way but we communicated over WhatsApp and wanted to share. Number is +52 835 108 3610.
Per the WhatsApp convo, tent camping is not currently available. Cost for an RV/trailer/van is now 500MXN per night plus 250MXN deposit per each pet of which you get 200MXN back if you follow ALL their pet rules. Photo of their pet rules received via WhatsApp is attached here, it’s all in Spanish but their most restrictive rule for us was their breed restriction, small breeds only which didn’t work for our shepherd mixed breed. In our opinion it’s the smaller breeds that cause the most troubles in hotels but that’s a rant for another time. Pet rules are explicit for the Bungalows but the WhatsApp convo made it seem like they are enforced for campers as well.
We likely would have negotiated allowing our pup in and negotiated on the nightly rate but as mentioned we didn’t make it here to get that chance.

We booked in here before our final push to the USA border crossing. It was such a pleasant place to catch up on some rest! $250 pesos for our truck/camper with water/electricity (two ppl, two dogs). Hugo was super easy to book with (speaks English) and Juan on-site is lovely (speaks Spanish). Bathrooms and pool were in great shape during our stay. Would definitely return to spend more time!

Very cute and quiet place on the river. Juan is the man in charge, living on site but speaking only Spanish. Hugo, the owner speak very well english. maybe, upon arrival, go check out the Facebook page: Bungalows Tropicana, you could Whatsapp Hugo :)

this is a grassy area with water and hydro hookup. washroom was disgusting so we left after 1 night paid $400

We stayed here in December 2021 and again in March 2022 on our way to and from the border. In the three months since our first visit, they made significant improvements and it looks like they plan to continue! New electrical outlets to all the camp sites and they just finished building a new larger pool as well. The bathrooms are still a little run down, but they cleaned them thoroughly for us when we arrived. Highly recommend getting some grilled oysters in town while you visit!

Spacious, charming. Water & electric hook up. There is a dump station. Hosts are accommodating and welcoming. It's right on the water.

We stayed here for one night and paid 250 pesos for two people for camping. There was electric and water hook ups. No sewage no Wi-Fi. The bathrooms were deplorable. Decent location.Super loud music was playing till 2 am which prevented any type of sleep. Wouldn’t recommend

Really quiet and nice place to spend a few nights before or after crossing the border. The family there is super nice, they even gave us fresh fish! The place was 250 MXP per night for two people in a van, no WiFi and showers are only cold water, but since the cabins were empty they let us use one of them to get a hot shower.

A very quiet fishing town guarded by a navy base so very safe! Camping is large grass area to pull any large rig, electricity at request. They let us use the showers in the bungalows ($1000p to rent). Caretakers are so lovely, invited us to dinner with them.

Very quiet place on the water. Beautiful view. Lots of room for big rigs. Easy access roads. Watch for the numerous topes in town. Water non-potable. Limited electric. Dump station. Great for birders. Quiet 6km return walk along road to Gulf shore. About 2km to village with shops. 350MX per night. Did not check banos.

Campground looked nice. Owner charged us 300 pesos per night for two persons and a 23 ft RV. After discussion he reduced to 250. He thought this was the right price for it in Mexico. After travelling through Mexico for more then half a year, we had a different opinion and left.

no real access to electricity. We were all alone. The place is tranquillo and we were tired and happy to help out the person at the reception.

4 cabins for rent (price unknown) and loads of space for camping with water & power available. Price was reasonable at $150mxn per night (we stayed 2). Little pool and picnic areas under palapas. Right on the water but not a beach. Great view though.
