Don‘t stay here. We followed the road down along the beach quite a ways until we found a parking spot. A resident from the houses on the other side of the street must have seen us because 5 min after we went to sleep, the cops came and busted not only us, but also two other campers on the same strip :D You’re not allowed to sleep in your car on a city street they told us, so we had to leave.

Stayed here last night, it is on the road but it is not that busy. It was pretty chill, I slept well, no one hassled me.

we de decided not to stay here. Busy street and town/city. We didn't want to sleep in our car here. just didn't feel good.Difficult to find something else. Besides that, we heared that Oakland isn't always safe...
Conclusion:you can park here for free if you want. The park itself is nice with picnictables,bbq's and toilets.Toilets close after 8 pm.

Street parking on beach side next to bike path. Park is close by but ALL bathrooms were out of order and locked :(. Didn't see any parking signs posted so seemed legal for night. Popped up Westy without a problem. Still a lot of cars and pedestrians after sunset. Nice spot - too bad no bathrooms.

Streetside parking with ocean view. Next to nice beach and park. Water + Toilets in park ( only usable during the day). Great for kitesurfing. Did not get bothered. Cold beach shower. :-)
