Free parking at the Sandino Park (back side, close to the ministerio de gobernacion). 900 meters to the cathedral. Very quiet.

Stayed one night, could have stay more. Peaceful at night, lots of kids and people in the day so secure and hospital near it if needed. Quiet night, bathroom open with the comedor
Report Check-InNice park, plenty of kids and good playground. Access to tap water. Some Youngs talking at night but it was quiet from 10 pm approx.
Report Check-Infree place to park overnight. felt safe and was quiet. used the bathrooms at plaza inmaculada (just east down the road where the Colonia inn supermarket is) before and after which were clean and nice. couldn't stay overnight at the plaza as they lock the gates around 9.30 and reopen them at 7.30 and guards said we couldn't stay overnight (although we didn't offer to pay a small amount so you could try). they were friendly though and happy for us to use the facilities in between closing time.
Report Check-InFree & quiet this was the perfect spot for us and we got water from the park the next morning. Totally recommend.
