Slovenia
iOverlander cannot verify if wild camping is permitted at this location. It is your responsibility to verify local laws or obtain consent before staying the night.
A place up on a hill that seems to be a former bar location because you can still see the seats and tables. Reach it via a paved road in bad condition. It ist a little messy but quiet and you can see the ocean.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
The driveway is also no problem with a van. We had a quiet night. Next time we come with our Toyota we will continue to stay after the weather station (everywhere cameras by the station)
Report Check-InWe followed the instructions on I Overlander to find this spot. Coming from the Italian border it was our first Slovenian wild camping spot. With a large LWB heavy Sprinter we wondered whether we would be able to safely access the spot. The climb up steep narrow tarmac lanes was fine and on arrival at the track we went for it. The rough rocky track was fine and we wobbled and swayed our way over the remaining couple of meters without too many problems. The opening was fairly flat and offered shade amongst the trees. The views over the the sea coast were amazing. The best spot to park was down a narrow concrete slope onto a flat slab. This would be easily managed by most rigs. We took the space further back and as the light was fading we stayed put. If we had arrives earlier we would have slipped down onto the concrete platform at the edge of the clearing. In late April we were entirely alone. If you are used to a bit of off roading this wont deter you.
Report Check-Insecond time I come here and its still Nice to stay here for a quit night.
only sad point is the trash left behind, but the so it is still great.
Massive crater in the entrance, nearly did some serious damage trying to get in with our van. Gave up as not worth the risk.
Report Check-Infantastic place, open air bar has expired, locals said the place is free, 4x4 not necessary but enough space under the wheels
Report Check-InNice spot, made it in no problem with a LWB sprinter 2wd. 4x4 not necessary. Low clearance or large motor homes not recommended. Nice views, firewood good for a night!
Report Check-InTried to reach this place but there were massive holes in the road so I didn't wanna try it with my tiny, not 4x4 car.
Report Check-Inperfect spot, calm and nice, in the middle of nature. the tables and seats are very usefull to camp and cook in the evening.
Report Check-In4x4 not truly neccessary. Nice spot next to the weather station. Some mountainbikers in the morning.
Foto is of the rising bloodmoon😄😊
We were here in April the rubbish had mostly been cleared into big piles. our campfire cleared some of the stuff. No visitors only the birds. Loved the peace and quite
Report Check-InFirst night stayed at the bar area, had people coming in all evening, but no problems. Second night went down the gravel road, past the field to find a little secluded place with an amazing view. As Kontakt said, there is a 2m drop where you need 4x4.
Report Check-InFantastic view and place. Continue driving the little gravel road and just past the observatory to find a big field with a nice view. (I improved the view just a bit...) Plenty of room, and no people.
Report Check-InStayed two nights. First night at the bar location. Several people came to pick mushrooms and enjoy the area. One guy came just to talk to us. Think he was notified of us. Very sweet person. Told us of the area and what to see. He also told us that the mountain and bar is owned by the government, many people come to have picnic and party (which was clear from the waste laying around). He told us that we could stay but that the police comes every month to check.
Next day we dicided to park near the observatory/space thing just 50/100 meters further along the dirt road from the 'bar'. We drove past the observatory on to the grass area. Much better place. No people, sun most day and increadable
view of kober city if you follow the dirt road by foot down the two meter very steep decline and turn left.
Just passed by, still possible to camp over night. Remains of the bar still present.
Report Check-InNice spot, view is amazing. we stayed one night and had no problems.
