Corrupt police man. Wanted 60bols for a stamp, which wasn‘t in our documents...
we gave him 2bols, and said this is all we have left, because we want to cross to Peru.

We were friendly gringos, and shook hands with the cop. We said we spoke no Spanish. He outright asked for money - we said we didn't have any, and he let us go. He seemed nice but corrupt as hell.

Dodgy officer looking for any reason to fine us. We were on our way out of Bolivia. Checked all documents including insurance. We'd lost our back number plate driving through a river and he wanted to fine us 100bob showing us the Highway Code book. We said we would buy one in Puno. We played dumb, smiled a lot and eventually he got bored and let us go. He did stamp our TIP although I don't think this really matters as nobody else checked!

Corrupted police!! They wanted 10 bol bribe for a stamp on our "car visa paperwork". We said we had no money so they sent us to the money exchange!! We finally didn't pay as we had no cash. They pull over only foreign plated cars.
