Very impressive indeed!
The road up here is in great condition! Just follow your gps the entrance to the road, then follow the sign posts towards the site (Google maps wanted to send us up very dodgy dirt roads). Mostly asphalted. Small patch of dirt road in excellent condition.

Still free!
We were alone here, even on a Saturday.
Very much worth it.

Well worth a stop. Free. I arrived on a Sunday morning at about 10am. There were a few other cars in the parking area, but I only saw a few other people while I was there.

It is a very large site. Plan on somewhere between 1½ and 4 hours here. I spent a bit over three hours. Bring water and snacks.

There is one loop, but if you have the time and physical ability, I recommend continuing on to Las Monjas, which is the largest building.

As kdgreene pointed out, you might want to visit twice to get different lighting on the structures for better photographs.

The road in is gravel for the last few kilometers. It's well-maintained, but narrow with a few switchbacks.

If you are in this area, this is such a nice archeology site to walk around. If you’re here in a weekday, you’ll likely be walking around all by yourself.

Still free to enter.

We camped overnight in the parking lot. It isn’t super flat, but if you parallel park along the edge you can find some flat areas. Best if you have some levelers. AWESOME views.

Amazing archeological complex with incredible views. Buildings with walls up to 12m in height. Recommended.

Huge ruins with great views. And free, which is particularly rare in Peru to be noticed...

Great ruins, worth the visit.
Official opening hours:
Monday to Sunday 9:00am to 4:00pm
We arrived at 3:30pm and could visit the ruins until 5:30pm, so maybe they are not to strict about the opening hours.

Well worth the visit. We arrived before closing, then spent the next morning exploring as well. For photos, both evening and morning light up different buildings.

Really great ruins to visit! We liked them much more than Kuelap. Wide spread, amazing views, and NO other people!

It's still free. Still extremly few visitors. I was the only tourist there today.
The security guard at the far end didn't let me enter the circulars.
Less than two hours needed for a round trip if the site.
The road up is well maintained. No potholes.

Fantastic ruins. Las Monjas is particularly impressive (the guard let us inside the building to have a closer look). Free. Worth the stop for sure.
