Report Check-InCamping near the rim at its best if you can level yourself. Hot here mid summer but several big shade trees to park under. Relatively quiet during the week, a couple of cars 20 minutes each. No T-Mobile, minimal Verizon.
Report Check-InThis is an amazing spot. The views of the Grand Canyon are unbelievable.
Unfortunately today the canyon is full of smoke.
Must see if you want to experience the Grand Canyon without the tourists.
Report Check-InThis is a well known and heavily frequented view point. It is signposted so everybody will find this "local tip" camp. Unfortunately we arrived late and could not look for a better camp. This parking lot is very dusty, not really level to park a car, the (only) fire pit a rubbish dump, toilet paper in the bushes and you are 50mts away from the cliff view point. We liked the views from the nationalparks North Rim much more.
And as well it is a 75 minute drive from the North Rim on forestry roads to this spot if you take a DIRECT line from turnoff 22. Travelling straight west is NOT possible with big rigs (tree branches and a steep, rocky descent). Coming from the north is good for all cars.
