Description

Awesome spot right in town. It’s a large field on state trust land between the off-ramps for the 10 near a storage facility and RV park. I stayed here many times while attending school at CDI. The occupants of the RV park will come by and say hi every now end then while walking their dogs and are super friendly.
This site has zero trash I’ve seen so let’s try to keep it that way, no one has bothered me out here and everyone I’ve talked to doesn’t mind people staying for a day or two.
I get full bars and 5g with no booster
Site is easy to get level and can accommodate big rigs.
Planet fitness is within a mile.
No toilets and I wouldn’t recommend pooping out here.
It can get a bit muddy during rain but nothing that isn’t easily handled
Parking right near the dirt ramp so you get a good whiff of the flowers is very nice.

As always, keep it clean keep it cool Kooks

Latest Check-Ins

I’ve been questioned daily by a different Goodyear police officer 4 days straight. Even had code enforcement out here trying to tell me to leave. Told him to call police. Same officer showed up and told me I was fine since I had a permit.

Make sure you have your permit staying here. Also don’t park on the inner ring of what use to be a horseback. I’ve seen officers make campers move in that area.

I had 3 police come and check my permit. Very next day code enforcement came out and told me I’m not even aloud to park here. I immediately said you will need to call an officer to tell me that. Officer came out told me I have a permit and I’m fine and don’t have to move.

Very clearly marked with Arizona State Trust Land signs. The Icetown is to the north and east of the spot and you can hear the traffic quite loudly even with all my double pane windows shut. No view but it’s very convenient to the city..

Addition to my prior review: after being here a week, a cop came and told me to leave. I showed my AZ state land permit, and I was fine.
Days later, someone called the cops on me (I make no noise, nor have anything set outside). Again, I showed my permit and was fine to stay. Cops were nice.
Get a permit online. &16 for 12 months in all AZ state land.

Great spot for a city camp. The lot is large and private even with a few rigs here. Far enough from the thruway that it’s more background noise, even with windows open.

You may need the annual permit to park on state land, but I didn’t have trouble;e staying for the night.

As described by other comments. A very large dirt/desert area of State Land. Close to Walmart and other stores. Will get dog walkers from RV Park next door, but they didn’t disturbed me. Storage facility gets a bit of traffic, but nothing that is bothersome.
Freeways are close, but the sound is a hum in the distance.
I did have local police arrive telling me to leave, but luckily I had purchased a AZ State Land use permit online ($15) and showed it to them on my phone. The officer was surprised, as he said no one usually has a permit. He was friendly and we chatted and I took pictures with him. He said I was welcome to stay since I had the permit.
I stayed for 10 days.

Good spot for city camping. Dark and remote considering you're still in the metro area. Freeway is noisy, but that's a fair trade-off.
