Description

Wonderful food and people! This place appears on Google as Park Cafe but is actually called Cafe la Guerita and you don’t want to miss it! They specialize in birria and make all kinds of dishes with and without it. We stopped in for some chilaquiles and it was one of our best culinary and service experiences in Baja. Luz is a true chilaquile artist!! And her husband Eduardo is beyond kind and welcoming. We got delicious birria chilaquiles with salsa rojo and they also happily prepared vegetarian chilaquiles with fried egg, mushrooms and salsa verde. Chef’s kiss! The flavors and presentation are next level, the prices are good and you’ll feel at home here. Make sure to tell Luz and Eduardo you found them on here, they’re well traveled themselves and excited to host Overlanders! They speak excellent English but this is also a great place to practice your Spanish. By far our favorite breakfast, service and conversation we’ve had in Baja.

We stopped by Cafe la Guerita based solely on the original post here. We were so thrilled with our experience! Eduardo and Luz were such kind, welcoming, and charming hosts. They both speak excellent English, and they helped us with our Spanglish. They were so patient to thoroughly explain the various menu items. The food was absolutely delicious, the birria was top notch. We cannot recommend this place highly enough…we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in La Paz. We arrived hungry, but we left with full stomachs and new friends!
