Description

Nice tiny place on the Salinas Grande beach. Basic outdoor kitchen with a fireplace. You can also have meals there that they are cooking. There is a toilet and two outdoor showers (without walls). Plug- in for electricity was possible. WiFi is also available at the communal area, but is not really fast. In the price, breakfast is included. We paid 6$ per person per night. Update 10/2021: we paid $3pp/night (no breakfast) for a van. I guess $6pp is for a dorm.

looks abandoned.
no signs, no people.

Report Check-In

Good value for the price, owners are very nice, nice common chill area, nice kitchen, electricity, good surf. Potable water available.
The only downside is that the facilities (toilet, shower) are rustic at best.
Space for 1 or 2 vans.

The owners are really friendly, but it's a bit of a shame that it's run down as it is. I guess it's the "half shit" mentality of central America once again. Toilets haven't been cleaned for month, the shower is decent, but just on dirt, so you will stand in a puddle of dirt.

Wifi exists but ultra slow, so basically unusable (but very good cell service). Electricity close to the toilet block / showers and works :-) (Would not try to run an AC on it though, this will certainly trip the breaker or burn the wires).

Price is a reasonable $3pp, they have a kitchen, but the lady wasn't there in the evening so we couldn't ask about buying drinks or food. Her husband lives on site, but I think he is ill and can't leave his bed much.

They have two friendly dogs and cats so definitely pet friendly.

There are trees for shade and a crazy amount of birds. Unfortunately, they also shit everywhere and you can't leave anything outside.

There is running water and apparently even potable water from one tap (looked clean), but it only worked on the first night.

Nice seating area up front towards the beach.

I guess it depends on the surf if it's a good spot to stay, the waves weren't for us (strong messy beach break). If the waves are good, o would say it's nice enough to stay. If not, not much to do here except having a beer for the sunset. We had nice refreshing wind in the evening, rest of the day is very hot.

This place is a bit rustic but it has a beautiful beach for surfing. A bar and a restraunt. There is also a hostile. So give it chance you may stay a week. 3 uspp to camp.

Report Check-In

Asked 3$ pp. Very basic shower and toilet. We did not stay as the wind was horrible and we ate a lot of dust in the 30 minutes in this little town. We went to Las Penitas instead.

Report Check-In

$2 pp but no sunshine to power our solar panels. (full of trees everywhere), lots of shade. We stayed anyways because the place is magical. Empty beaches due to the protests of last year, few friendly locals, hammocks, located on the sand. Peaceful and very welcoming, even with our three dogs.

We don't understand why there's no comments since 2016 about this place. It's open, right on the beach with a really good price (2$pp), there's electricity, old but clean bathrooms whith water and a basyc shower whith a bottles recicled wall. We stayed 4 nights and it's a really good place with a good vibe. Maybe it's posible to fix a big rig if you are the only guest. The US couple that manage are really nice! Come here and enjoy Nicaragua ;)

This is a chill spot right on the beach in a small fisherman's village. Theres good waves to surf right in front and close by at the rivermouth. There's plenty of places to camp. There's 2 toilets and 2 showers available for camping guests. There's a big rancho with hammocks, tables and chairs which guests can use. There's wifi which is spotty but pretty good considering the location. They sell beers, soft drinks and basic food at a decent price. There's places to park your vehicule and there's possibilities to plug that in. The place is animal friendly, you can camp in tents or sleep in the hammocks. The place is always open and the owners are friendly. They have good cheap prices for your stay.
