I stumble on this spot trying to drive to the « tres virgenes » spot on the app it lead me to nowhere. I back track on this spot which doesn’t need 4WD. Great place to make a fire, sleep on hangout with a view on the 3 virgenes mountain

Great spot. Amazing views 360. Was able to make it back here in my 24’ van with little to no problems. Quiet. The right hand turn off the road on the way in is a bigger open spot but we parked just slightly off the road at the turn out.
Report Check-InPhotos of bees -I swear they don’t really bother humans and are totally worth watching. They didn’t try to get into my SUV, just buzzed around and swarmed the water and they ALL left as soon as sun set!
Report Check-InAmazing. Google maps makes it look like you have to walk. But that’s the turn out to the bigger area. Could fit a bunch of small-medium campers if you wanted to have a party! I was set to stay across the highway. The lava stops. But soooo much garbage. This spot is an easy 2 mile drive in. And absolutely stunning being at the foot of the volcano. Totally alone. Didn’t hear anything. Beware: don’t leave water outside. That will attract the honeybees. If you like bees (as I do) leave a bunch of water dishes out an hour before sunset and watch them swarm. They’re incredible. And Thirsty -and NO they don’t sting. And they leave promptly when the sun sets. Will return.
