Something not right?

Description

Set in a beautiful location near to the Nauklaft Mountain Zebra. Accommodation includes Chalets and Campsites. Campsites are large and very spread out from each other. Each site costs 170N$ then 140N$ per person staying. We had a lovely stay right until before we left when the lady Nicky was quite dismissive of us as she thought we had left without paying when we arrived at the reception at 10.30am. This put a little bit of a bad taste in out mouths when leaving which was a shame as it's a beautiful spot.

Nice place with funny open shower and toilet. good WiFi at the farmhouse. we payed 570 N$ for 2 persons for 1 night

No water in the river in May 2022 except for some gross green puddles. The place is quite kitch with a huge amount of decorations in the garden made out of iron. Bar looked nice and they have a pool. We didn't stay, the place was not our style.

What a beautiful place! We stayed at campsite Drongo with private ablution. The staff fired the donkey and came back to light the candles. Braai and water at campsite. We payed 510 for 2 for one night - definitely worth it!
Pool and free Wi-Fi available at the lodge.

All as said before - in our opinion one of the best campsites in Namibia!
Extremely friendly and helpful people, great setting
We stayed on Oerwald … which is a bit strenuous to get to with a big rig (the 5km feel like 50) … but still worth it: wonderful hikes and refreshing spring pools (apparently all year round)
Absolutely no mobile reception, but very good wifi right at the camp’s reception
A place we would definitely come again

Not a cheap campsite for sure. We've paid 510 NAD for 2 people but the place is really well taken care of, well equipped and each camping spot is totally original and different from one another. Because they are so far away you chose at check-in while telling the owner what you expect and checking some photos on the wall frames. We stayed at Drongo Campsite, which was nice, clean, well equipped but I confess we paid much less for nicer spots here in Namibia. The owner is really helpful though, wifi is fast, pool was clean and toilets were spotless. There are so many possibilities to hike short or long trails and you don't pay extra for that. Eagle viewpoint is well worth the detour for sunset as it's got amazing views over surrounding mountains including Naukluft. You can reach it either hiking or by car uphill. No MTC network anywhere in their huge property.

We stayed at oerwald camp, a very big campsite with private ablutions (indoor and outdoor.) It's the perfect place for a long weekend with friends or family! With only two people you will feel a bit lost because it's so big. Sakkie is the caretaker and lights the candles and donkey boiler for you. There are nice shorter walks around the campsite and you can also do the 21 km hike or drive the (easy) 4x4 trail. They also sell fresh baked bread and game meat and other stuff in the small shop(no veggies.) We payed $N150 p.p.p.n. and you pay $N180 for the campsite.

It's such a nice place, with chalets and private campsites. Friendly and helpful owners and staff. Nice and well decorated restaurant and garden with a small pool.
We stayed 2 nights in OERWALD 4x4 camp. Special Corona price 100 NAD pp and night.
We have been alone there, very private. Everything clean, nice ablutions, good hiking trails nearby the river with pools with water.

We stayed at the Naukluft View Camp around 8km away from the lodge. We had a really big campsite (a lot to walk between braai area and seats) and the staff was very friendly and helpy. Each campsite has its private shower and toilet. During the night the paths to the ablutions are lightened with candles.

Were at Oedwaldcamp, 11km from the lodge. Private, very clean. Worth the price. Openstreetmap has walkingtrails from the camp up the ridge.

Next to the Lodge there are also some nice campsites, one of them is “Oerwald”. This site is about 12 km away from the lodge and situated in a nice landscape with plenty of trees, a nearby river and is totally isolated. We hade the whole site for ourselves, and we could choose freely where to stand. There are several braais, and a clean ablution block. The site is maintained by a caretaker, who lives nearby and also takes care of heating up the donkey shower. There is no electricity or Internet, but the site is lit at night by several candles. It felt like a small paradise. The lodge itself has very nice pool, a small shop and a bar. They also have a reasonable Internet connection. Have a look in the garden, the owner is a artist with old metal and a welding machine.

Great camp! Not cheap, but totally worth it (and we're traveling on a small budget). We stayed at the Oerwald as described below. They usually use this for overlander groups.
From here also the 21km hike starts. It's really well indicated, takes about 7hrs and is a has some great views on the surrounding landscapes! Ask when checking in for the route description, it's really well done.
New price N$170 for the campsite + N$140 pp

An absolutely beautiful camp/lodge with years of love and detail poured into it. The owners were such a lovely couple and catered to our every request. Johan has created a gemstone in the Namibian desert. Our campsite had private ablutions thoughtfully built into a fig tree. We had only planned to stay for one night but stayed for three. We felt the price should have been far higher considering the luxury and privacy of the sites - 12 camp sites spread over 15km. It may be a detour for most people, including us, but it was well worth the visit. We will be back!

We stayed at the Oerwald Campsite, which belongs to the farm and is approx. 10km southwest of the farm in lonely wilderness. You have to report at the farm first, then go back on the main road, heading south and turn left after 5 km. Now follow the farm pad till you reach the campsite. Beware: If you book, you will have the huge place alone for you! They won't let anybody else on that Spot, unless you agree!
Maybe give them a call: 063 293 416
200 N$ pp

Lovely campsite where one is completely inbeded in nature. Check-out time really unusual at 9.00 am. We where lucky to do the checkout with Johan without any problems eventhough we where two hours to late.

Not cheap but a beautifull place when you stay on the Oerwald campsite.
Donkey shower in a first class bathroom. There is Sapopi to help you out if you need anything.
It is 12 km away but at natural pools. A lot of birds and in the night you here the Zebra and Kudu.
It was worth the money. 400 for 2 people + 4x4.
