Description

See two hacks below—
This is the fastest way to get to Colon (less than an hour). However it is a toll road, only accesible with a Panapass, a toll pass. You cannot buy them here (no idea if and where you could) and you cannot pay cash. So we turned around and had to take the "normal road" through downtown Panama City. It took us 3,5 hours in afternoon traffic.

Latest Check-Ins

We got caught on this road and pulled up to the unoccupied toll booth. After about 2 minutes the arm raised and we passed through. They must be monitored by camera and saw foreign plates.

Take the road to Miraflores Locks, follow straight on towards Gamboa till the signs for Colon shows up for the autopista, at autopista you pay 2,50 to a person. I started 5.30 am and needed 1 hour and a half from the Country Inn. Later, traffic gets thick.

Report Check-In

Took us 50min to Colon thursday morning. Left Panama City at 7:00 AM and were in Colom at 7:50.

PANAPASS HACK : just follow another car really closely through the panapass gate. You have time to pass before it close on you. And if it starts closing, sensors will raise as soon as it see your rig's front tire.

Enjoy free panapass. I mean...if you are in an emergency, this hack is good to know.
