Beautiful green campsite (that you don't expect when you arrive at the gate, just follow GPS, you are at the right place!), fantastic deck with pool, seating area, kitchen, shower and toilet. MZN 700 pppn, kids were free. Campsite manager was very helpful, brought a wifi router and even went to town for us to buy some extra water (water from tap comes directly from the river and was very muddy so we did not want to full the lifesaver with it). We did not have time, but definitely a place worth staying more than only one overnight stay.

very nice, clean and well maintained. extraordinary place when you want to chill next to the pool. firepit and braai area and equipment. I wouldn't doubt to stay longer next time

Great camping site next to the river with friendly people

Lovely spot on the river bank. Nice pool, good clean shower and washing facilities. Covered dining and seating area, all well maintained. Stopped for one night, stayed for two. Good comms from Beaulah. Will stop here again if passing Tete.

Beautiful campsite on the Zambezi River, on the outskirts of Tete - a good place to do refuel, stock up and rest for a day or two before continuing the journey.

Incredible spot outside Tete on the Zambezi. Beautiful sunsets. Follow the gps. Looks like you have arrived at construction site but oasis behind.

Cash only! No wifi but worth it

Beautiful and very relaxing campground, right on the Zambezi river, overlooking Tete. The owners are some of the friendliest people we have met, very welcoming and engaging with their guests. Everything is on a self catering basis, but the facities are very modern and beautifully designed ( including a nice pool and a hot shower).
Owners let us use their wifi

Fantastic! One of the best campsites I've ever been to. Lovely pool. Shaded grassy areas by the Zambezi for camping. Clean kitchen.

Stunning little campsite with green grass right on the Zambezi River. Close enough to Tete for resupply (Tete is a well-provisioned city, and you can even find a DJI drone or replacement iPad at InfoTech). They will have Starlink wifi soon too. Absolute gem of a campsite and Wynand the owner is a wealth of knowledge about where to find supplies you may need.

I spent two nights in the chalets, which are newly renovated and have AC. The property is stunning, right on the Zambezi River. The unit also had a small kitchenette and fridge, etc. Secure parking, and a beautiful pool. They are getting Starlink in Sept 23, which will make it a work/rest paradise. The owners are beyond friendly and helpful. They helped me find an obscure cable, a fuse, etc. Highly recommend.

Amazing campsite on the Zambezi river. Green lawn, swimming pool, braai area and beautiful Ablution with hot water. Difficult to find on Googlemaps or Garmin, but phoned owner for directions. Hidden jewel, must visit.

Best recommendations for this wonderful place on which we stayed for six days as we liked it so much: huge lawn with lots of shade from trees directly at the Zambezi with great views on the river; nice pool; stylish kitchen and fire place area; great design of bathroom/shower; quiet (noise and loud music would not be accepted). The owners were VERY helpful and supportive! Ideal place if you need a longer rest and need to regenerate from travelling. Biggest rigs can camp here. There are also chalets which we however did not visit.

Best place to stay around Tete. Great facility’s. Really great pool. Nice outdoor kitchen with nice and clean fridge you can use. An really nice place to stay and relax for a few days especially when you are the only one. Firewood for free.
You can also rent some new renovated houses with a luxury standard.
For now it is a bit difficult to find the location because there are no signs.

Very nice campsite with great pool and braai area.Manger here is very helpful. Great river views with Hippos calling at night.

Probably the best campsite we’ve stayed at in our 3 month overlanding trip. Beautiful, peaceful setting on the banks of the Zambezi, drifting to sleep with the sounds of the river, frogs and hippos was idyllic. Well designed and clean outdoor bathroom, kitchen and fire pit as well as a gorgeous swimming pool and lounger to relax. Beulah and Wynand were the perfect hosts, warm & welcoming, giving us tonnes of tips for Malawi and even tumble drying our clothes after we’d hand washed them. Would highly recommend staying here!

Kukutana campsite is the very best option around Tete. Next to the Zambezi river; no need to go through Tete town, but the city is 20 minutes drive away if you need to go shopping.
The campsite is big, green and shady. With a fantastic equipped outdoor kitchen (with firepit and bbq) next to the beautiful and clean swimming pool. The showers/toilets are very nice.
This is not only a perfect overlander-campsite, but it is the perfect place to stay for a bit longer and have a good rest. We stayed longer than planned.
There are also nice clean and modern chalets (airco !) available at very reasonable prices.
And laundry service !
Wynand and Beaulah are great hosts and will do everything to make your stay comfortable. They have a lot of info on Malawi (and can help making the bordercrossing much easier). Kukutana can only be found via Google Maps. Don't miss this fantastic campsite !

Not an official campsite as such but a wonderful place to camp on grass on the owners large property. Lots of shade under trees. Very well maintained. Beautiful swimming pool with view of the Zambezi. Beautiful clean bathrooms. Best place to stay around Tete.

We had a very nice stay at Kukutana Campsite near the city of Tete. You can camp with a fantastic view directly at the Zambezi river. The camping offers a swimming pool and a nice area to have braii, eat and relax.
The bathroom area as well was very clean and made with lots of lovely detaills.
There are also some bungalows to stay. The owners are so kind and friendly - we really loved to have some nice chats and coffee with them. They could also help us with some advice for our further travels.
We came without reservation but you can also text or call Beaulah in advance +258846323266
We definitely recommend staying there.

Beautiful newly built campsite, one of the nicest we have seen on our trip! Very clean ablutions, green grass, big fire place and braai area, outside kitchen and a nice pool overlooking the Zambezi. Very friendly South African owners, who want to make you feel at home. USD 10 pppn.
Far enough from town to have a quiet night (only hearing the frogs). Recommended!
