Pretty quite overnight, no problems. Eve stayed for two nights as we decided to stay in Bozeman a little longer.
Report Check-InThere were signs saying “no overnight parking” but there were tons of RVs, vans and Buses. I didn’t have any issues and felt safe but keep in mind that there are several permanent vehicle dwellers in Bozeman so not only does Walmart get full but certain side streets. I stayed two nights, typically people leave in the morning and come back in the evening to let people feel comfortable and shop.
Report Check-InThere are 15 campers and/or cars. When you enter the front parking entrance go to the close left corner. There are no “no overnight parking” signs in that area of the parking lot, just the main lot. I’ve stayed here overnight many times.
Report Check-InThere are signs everywhere saying no overnight parking. Yet, I stayed there 2 nights in the back of my SUV. There were way more than 20 RVs, just as many vans, a Skoolie one night, and a dozen or so cars and other vehicles. I’ve stayed at popular Walmarts before, but this took the cake. It was a nice clean Walmart with mostly well kept bathrooms. 2 bars of Verizon LTE.
Because it’s so popular with rigs pulling in and out at all hours, use your ear plugs!
There must be 20 units here right now in trailers, camper vans, a couple of Skooly's and well an assortment of things. One guys got an entire kitchen set up in the parking lot cooking. I'm camping in my Tesla this summer so I'm rather inconspicuous but there's nothing inconspicuous about everybody else. I will upload a picture. Yes there are signs that say or no overnight parking. But parking is different than being attentive in your vehicle. It does not say no overnight camping or anything like that. Parking is leaving your vehicle unattended. And I think we need to start making that distinction here
Report Check-InDefinitely a go to spot to stay the night or a couple nights. I've stayed here for several night in a row, along with many other large bus rvs, trailers, and campervans. Even though theres signs, it most definitely allowed to stay overnight. lots of homeless people, so just be cautious. The only reason I'm comfortable staying here is cause I'm surrounded by other fellow Vanlifers and I have a dog with me. of course its always good to stay vigilant where ever your staying. The homeless don't bother you and mind their own business.
Report Check-InEven though it says "no overnight parking" there were a lot of rigs when I arrived at 11pm. It was literally a zoo with a class A, a skoolie, a few trailers, and vans. I stayed for the night with no issues.
Report Check-InI didn’t see signs saying no overnight parking but I also didn’t look too hard. There were a ton of camper vans / rvs / overnight car sleepers and had no issues
Report Check-InWe stayed here just to sleep for a night. There were a ton of other RVs and campervans parked here also. We had no issues.
Report Check-InA lot of signs "no overnight". But ! a lot of RV were spending the night. We spent 3 nights with absolutly no issues. Nobody bothered us.
Report Check-InThey just recently put up signs stating they would tow overnight cars. I have not talked with the staff about it. The signs are located at the back of the Walmart parking lot.
Report Check-In"No Parking Signs" in main lot, but we saw a couple other "stealth" rigs in a smaller lot closer to the adjacent Motel.
We quietly pulled in there and "buttoned up" in our van. No problems.
Bozeman has become a sort of "BozeAngeles" the past couple of years so stealth is a necessity.
Yes you can stay here. Probably goes without saying but I wouldn't recommend leaving your rig unattended. Seems local thieves are targeting this lot.
Report Check-InThere are No Overnight Parking signs BUT, we asked customer service, they state that they allow it just NO TENTS!
Report Check-InStayed at this location for about a week, as we were having some car trouble while passing through. We had no issues or knocks the whole time, though it was posted no overnight parking. There were several other rigs there, many staying long term. We did have a police officer come by one night saying that someone called to say there was someone running around the parking lot with a gun. We never saw the person and the officer was totally fine with us staying there.
Report Check-InTold this morning by the manager that this Walmart, as of today, will NOT allow overnight parking any longer because campers have been staying for 3 weeks or more and have no respect for the privileges. They are leaving trash everywhere, pouring kitchen grease and going to the bathroom in the parking lot. She said she doesn’t have the staff to clean up after such disrespectful people. It’s such a shame that some will ruin it for all.
Report Check-InIt was CROWDED with campers and overnighters. Much more quite then the campsites in Bozeman which are located right next to interstates and/or railroads.
There is a no overnight parking sign, but approx. 70 campers and trailers were here tonight!
Report Check-InMany RVs here today and we got here early! The picture is only one small section of the Walmart lot. A few rigs on the outer areas seem to be living here in campers that are unhitched! But everyone is friendly and keeping to themselves so seems to be a safe spot! Dump available across the street at ConocoPhillips gas station but unlike an earlier post noted there is NO potable water. Although you can get some a couple miles up the freeway for a minimal fee. Not much more you can ask for for a free night's stay!😉
Report Check-InSuper van friendly Walmart. Dozens of overnighters, despite the (kma) signs. Plenty of grass around. Not very well stocked or organized. Quiet at night EXCEPT for the BLARING train hornS THRU OUT the night.
Report Check-InCame here at 6 am to shop and use the facilities. RVs, vans, and cars everywhere, clearly many were there overnight. Generally clean, I didn't notice any trash laying about. There are plenty of no overnight parking signs on the edges, but no one seemed to care.
I stayed somewhere else. Bozeman allows overnight parking on public property, so it was easy to stay elsewhere rather than stress that Walmart any further.
Report Check-InAlthough I did see a no overnight parking sign there were many many many Rv's, vans, and campers in the lot. I even saw a full size RV with its slideouts out and one of those pop up camper trailers. Suffice it to say, although there is a sign stating that there is no overnight camping, there is no enforcement of it.
Report Check-InAs of January 2022, there are No Overnight Parking, signs. Still a handful of RVs and vans present, but I’ll be heading elsewhere.
Report Check-InWonderful that Walmart allows overnighting in their parking lot. I can see 5 other RVs from the very corner of the lot where I am at. There are also various other vans and cars in this area as well as some people living in tents on the other side of a fence that is up behind the parking lot. Generally quiet, but there is some trash around…others have said it, what a wonderful place it would be be if people didn’t just toss their trash. Suspect it is not this community of folks leaving trash as we don’t want to ruin a good thing, but it is always a good time to remind to respect all places stayed.
Report Check-InCampers are getting way to comfortable here. There were 30-40 RVs and vans that stayed the night. Lots of huge rigs taking up 8-10 parking spots. People with awnings setup, dogs running off leash, generators running all night. People need to remember we can only stay here because the store manager allows it. It's only a matter of time before the No Overnight Parking signs get posted and this is no longer an option. It's a Walmart not an RV park. Let's try to be a bit more respectful and discreet.
Report Check-InLarge parking lot with lots of RVs. Had a quiet night sleep. Hugh store with everything we needed for groceries.
Report Check-InTONS of campers, vans, tow behinds, and cars. The parking lot is so full I'm afraid they'll close this location soon. There are more campers here than a camp ground.
Report Check-InRV Party Central! Everything from vans to big rigs. Plus a conveniently located Walmart!
Report Check-Inthe busiest and most packed walmart we've we've to! at peak night there was over 40 rvs and vans here!
pros: nobody's gonna bug you, it's like a huge community, almost feels like an rv park with so many people here.
cons: walmarts are usually one of the worst sleeps we get lol. it was super crowded ! you can tell the locals are super annoyed by all the rvs and the people living here too.
ok for just a night
Report Check-Instayed 3 nights no problem. LOTS of RVs. get there early if you want a spot. on Saturday AM WalMart staff placed notices on windshields telling people to move their RVs by 12pm. not sure if this is normal for this location.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay.. typical Walmart parking lot but tons of RVs, buses, vans etc.. workers are pleasant and it’s clean..
Report Check-InStayed one night. Lots of campers and overnight cars. Plenty of area to set up. Well lit parking lot. Woke up 3 am with parking lot maintenance crew with leaf blower but it was Monday morning. Freeway noise but to be expected. Store not open 24 hours at this time.
Report Check-InAs stated earlier , lots of RVs here. Great T mobile service and antenna TV
Report Check-InTrain noise and highway noise but didn't keep me up at night. Had somebody drive-by yell "Whyare you all campong here??" at 9pm, sketched me oit a little but otherwise quiet. Lots of other campers.
Report Check-InNice clean park setting. There are many RVs parked here every night. People seem friendly. Because it’s on the freeway there’s traffic noise all night. People walk through regularly. Tonight it was sad to see one man walking through with a large unleashed Rhodesian ridgeback who didn’t clean up after this large dog took 2 big craps on the beautiful grass.
Report Check-InExactly what you expect from a Walmart lot. Other vans and RVs parked here and definitely viable. Flat spots are along the edges of the large parking lot. Nice grass as well for dogs and trash cans in the lot for trash.
Report Check-InTypical Walmart experience. A little loud due to proximity to the highway but it worked fine for 1 night. Handful of truck campers and RVs in the parking lot.
Report Check-InParamos una noche. Otro walmart en el camino. Tiene árboles en el estacionamiento, que es muy amplio.
Report Check-InAs described, big Walmart lot with lots of other vans, campers and RVs. We stayed for 4 nights no problem. Biggest downside was plow trucks early in the morning around you clearing the isles of snow.
Report Check-InHeavy snow kept me from the canyon campgrounds.
Good parts: Large Parking lot, police patrolled and open 24hrs so bathroom access.
BAD parts: But was woken up at 3am by loud car driving around and around lot, then at 5am crazy woman screaming and yelling at guy...not my idea of good place to stay even just one night. Think it’s where all the crazy people go to hang out.
We didn’t stay here but saw over a dozen RVs parked for the night.
Report Check-InThis place has a very cheerful air. It seems that all employees are happy and enjoy their work. Many RVs are here. Looks like a campground. Great location and at the gas station across the street has dump and water free for customers. Congratulations Bozeman and Walmart.
