Something not right?

Description

Large gravel lot just before the day-use area. Divided up into large parking spots as campsites. $20 for an RV or tent spot. Seems to be 26-hour stay allowed. There are pit toilets and trash dumpsters and fire pits, nothing else. Verizon signal is ok unless a cruise ship shows up, then no signal until it's gone. Portage Pass trail makes this place worth it though.

Large, level lot with designated spaces for camping. Look for camp spot numbers on the fence posts around the perimeter. Everyone seems to be parking just to the right of each posted number. You can only pay with the ‘Passport Parking’ app, and you don’t register your site number, you register your license plate. We checked in with the app at 9:18 PM and the app said we had to check out by 11:18 PM the next day. That was convenient because we just left the rig at the site and walked to the Portage Pass Trailhead. Parking at the trailhead is only available along the side of the road and is very crowded.

Huge gravel parking lot with designated sites along the edge. Fire pits and picnic tables for each site. Pit toilets and dumpsters are available. You can pay with the Passport app. at the campground. $20 for 24 hours. No "check-in/check-out" times. 5 bars of 5G with ATT and 5 bars of 4G with Verizon. We looked at the other campground first, and it had terribly rough roads throughout. It was also tucked in the trees with shrubs encroaching on the sites. Bug Haven!

There are two city campgrounds - this one far and above the one closest to town which has rough roads and a big of a scary feel. This cg is just after you go through tunnel and is a large approximately football field sized gravel lot with parking around the perimeter. A view of the water from some sites and the mountain with its waterfall is above you.

They need an on site payment drop box - to go into town on a day it’s pouring rain to find the harbor master is a big ask.

basically a gravel car park with some grass for tents. no water but toilets and rubbish bins. couldn't figure out who to give money to but its $11 for a tent and $20 for an RV. great views and close to the beach.

Report Check-In

Large gravel parking lot. Must be new this year, last year you could camp right next to the bay. Not now. $20 a night.

Report Check-In

The beach is day use only now. They have a roped off area for camping and pay $20 night at the kiosk Kiosks at the Harbor Office in town. Also got caught of guard by the $20 toll you pay to pass thought-the tunnel.

Report Check-In

Direct behind the tunel, left. Quite and with nice view to Whittier. Fee: 20$ per night. Ticket at the Habouer Office near US Coastguard

Report Check-In

This used to be a free spot to camp right by the water and next to the old Whittier airstrip, but going with the them of "everything's shittier in Whittier" the town has turned the spot right by the water into day use only and created a large gravel lot next to it as a place to camp divided up into large parking spots as camp site. $20 for an RV spot. I did not realize this until the morning because I had always been told this was a free site. So I didn't pay. The view and location are still nice. There are put toilets and trash, nothing else. Verizon signal is ok unless a cruise ship shows up, then no signal until it's gone. Portage Pass trail makes this place worth it though.
