Description

PRICE AS OF NOVEMBER 2021: 287 NAD ppn. Discount for Gondwana card holders (depending on nationality.)
A rather touristy camp with not much privacy and barely any shade on the campsite. Nice and clean ablution block and two pools which are as cold as a glacier lake.
There is an old elephant bull roaming through the camp frequently. We've been told that he might come up to 2meters near you. MTC H+ internet in the area rather unstable. Wifi at bar/pool 300mb/day free.

Very great facilities for this campsite (confortable, modern) and you can access the lodge facilities that are amazing but i prefer the campsites where you feel more alone into the wild. The campsites are close to each other, i could hear my neighbor snoring at night. Then there was an incident, from 1am to 5am somebody tried to enter the cars while everybody was sleeping, i had a terrible night.

We stopped here at the end of the 3 days trips from Hoanib river to Palmwag. We had a lunch here. Don't expect too much, it's cheap for the place (130N the pizza, 80N simple salad, 160N the burger) but not really good. Slow wifi available. Friendly staff. But we have decided not sleeping at the campsite, too big,not really charming. We drove until Hoada Campsite and we really prefer this kind of campsite 😉

We paid N$177 pppn with the Gondwana SADC membership card. Credit card payment accepted.
Laundry service costs N$7.50 per item.
Lovely campsite, as has already been described, and campers are made to feel very welcome to use lodge facilities. We found the WiFi only worked at the main restaurant area and was quite slow even there. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Report Check-In

A little piece of relaxation heaven in the middle of nowhere! Very nicely set up campsites with private bathrooms, kitchen area, table and bench, shade, electricity etc, etc!! Use of all the lodge amenities, 2 swimming pools and 2 bars and restaurant. it is located on the desert elephant highway so you may be lucky if they choose to pass by, we saw 1 elephant driving in only, but we saw kudu, jackal and heard hyena. We didn't book but were lucky to get a campsite for the night, later decided to stay for 2 nights.....well why wouldn't you?......but there was no space for the extra night so you can take a chance but booking is probably a good idea! with a Gondwana card it is 380 nd for 2 per night, free WiFi.

Report Check-In

Luxury oasis lodge featuring campsites with access to the facilities such as restaurants, bar & pool. Very clean, quiet place. If you are coming from the south on C43 from Palmwag, expect a police checkpoint about 1km from camp.
This is a perfect place to relaxe and recharge. Staff is professional helpful and polite.
Camping was full but they let us camp on the “overflow” campsite past site 14-15 after the ablutions. Price was 280N for 2 people. (Lady said since i was in the overflow site she only charged me for 1 person.
Overflow site has no water, no electricity.
Suggestion: book in advance, this place is worth it.

Loved this place! A real oase in the middle of nowhere. Great service and good food. The breakfast was amazing. Nice clean bathrooms with lots of privacy. We didn't make a reservation and were lucky with the last spot. So reserve in advance is better.

Report Check-In

stunning Oasis in the middle of nowhere.

Came here for a coffee and wifi as I didn't manage to get a sim card yet. Super friendly waiters. There is a pool you might be able to use it. Everyone friendly here.

Report Check-In

Campsite 12 along the riverbed has nice view. Although nr. 13 has the most privacy. A herd of 9 elephants walked right beside us in the evening light! And 2 of them walked in the campsite, too. What a wonderful and peaceful sighting! Still N$287/pppn. Bit steep but the ellies made it worthwile (though it may be rare that they come like this). Nice and cool campsite pool. Pool bar had ok food, but not great. Moderately priced, though. Had a game fillet for N$170. Stayed 1 night. Shop sells stuff of which ”last selling dates” has passed.

Report Check-In

Very nice lodge, great campsites, roomy. Not much wildlife left after the droughts

Report Check-In

We stopped for lunch only, very good and fresh, good service.
Campsites are nice with everything you need, but NAD285 is very expensive

Report Check-In

Nice and comfortable Campsite on the river. Everything is clean and well equipped.Very friendly staff and helpful with car repairs. We made a gamedrive with a well educated and trained guide. Unfortunately the elephants wich cross regularly the campsite did not appear.

Report Check-In

Beautiful thatched reception. Some sheltered campsites others quite exposed. Lovely setting very nice staff

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed this campsite. As a previous reviewer said, ask for a site facing the bush. The ablutions are shared, but there are probably only 3 sites per ablution block, so I never saw anyone else using ours.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the lovely restaurant and it was delicious.
If you have a Gondwana card, the price is super reasonable for camping. But even those that complain about it being expensive are missing the fact that the site offers a restaurant, laundry, wifi, swimming pools, electricity, hot water etc. All these things add value and need to be maintained and staff need to he employed to do so. Supply and demand principles prove that there is a demand for these things, so the price is probably fair.

Report Check-In

Beatiful and very well prepared campsite. Completly separated from the lodge each pitch has instalado own kitchen area with barbecue and electricity. Not all the places with shadow. Pool on lodge area, aroung 400 m. walking. Good toilets with hot water. 280 NB pp. Very frew camping options in this area

Report Check-In

Overall good facilities but overrated and overpriced. Path lights are on at the campsite at night which is very annoying. Ants everywhere (probably not much they can do about it). Palmwag concession was also disappointing. Would not stay here again. There are much better places around Namibia to visit.

Report Check-In

Great campsite, nice clean and cold pool. Clean ablutions with lots of hot water. Nice staff and beautiful surroundings! Also Strong connection to mtc

Report Check-In

Great campsite! If you have Gondwana Card you get 40% discount on accomodation so price is more reasonable: 334 NAD for 2 people for one night. Ask for a campsite with a view to the bush!!! We saw two herds of desert elephants a total of 15 elies 30 meters from the campsite! All while having breakfast in our spot. Also saw kudus and giraffe. The campsite has it's own swimming pool, bar and restaurant area. Wifi is free but limited to 300mb per day. MTC H+ internet works in the area but is a bit unstable.

Report Check-In

the installations are ok and clean, but the Price is horrible : 287 ppn ! toi expensive...
If you can choose another camp, do it...

Report Check-In

Came to buy groceries.
They only sell minor things (flour, sugar, some canned beans).
They don't sell meat, chicken, or eggs.

Report Check-In

We came here for a car repair.
Excellent mechanical workshop with professional mechanics and superbe tools.
Campsites expensive @ 273 N$ pp (Godwana Collection).
Small, cold and nice pools.
WLAN 100 MB free per day @ reception and pool area.

Report Check-In

They are extremely overpriced!!

Camping at the lodge is now 273 pppn
Concession fees are:
150 per car
100 per person
150 per person for camping

Report Check-In

Godaweful Godwana. 30 painful mixtures to check in, building site surroundings, but Helipad operational if your choppers ago. Such a hiked up rip off price.

Report Check-In

Great place, well priced for what you get. Easy access with a roof top tent.

Report Check-In

Price still 245 NAD pppn, most of facilities shut due to corona. Had take away food from restaurant. Ablutions nice and clean, hot water. It can get noisy if you have people on spot next to yours. The lodge is under construction so you hear noise from 7am onwards.

Report Check-In

245pp is the price. Not cheap, but it’s a nice Camp! 2 pools, an elephant sometimes can be seen near the Camp (as we heard). WiFi is free for the first 200MB (approx.) per day.

Report Check-In

Is a Gondwana site now, you can check availability/book online before at their Website. Now 245pP. Two pools. Excellent steak for dinner at the pool bar, 160R. No need to book that ahead. Pre bookable buffet dinner avail for 395 with the lodge guests. Well managed and clean. For the Elephant you must be lucky.

Report Check-In

Beautiful campsite very nice people and very helpful.

Report Check-In

Expensive campsite at N$270 pp/ night but had clean ablutions.
There is power and water at sites. Try and ask for a site on the riverbank, we stayed at no 5 was very nice. Sites are very close to each other. Nice swimming pool.

Report Check-In

Nice and well maintaind campsite in the Lodge, a bit overpriced but ok because very remote and little options. Nice refreshing pool, good door in the restaurant and most off all an elephant running trough the campsite almost every Day.

Report Check-In

We stayed at campsite 11, it was a really nice stay. Of course it’s a little bit more expensive - the landscape was so beautiful! Nice pool and facilities. Buffet dinner not worth the money, quite expensive for what you get. Food at the pool bar is reasonable priced.

Report Check-In

We had a nice camp site with a nice view. But we payed 270N$/p!

Report Check-In

Prices for camping are insane! 280 N$ pp! So we didn't camp there and went to Palmwag community camping instead.
But restaurant is nice and really reasonable prices. We had burger and steaks there. Good service and lovely decorations.

Report Check-In

Quite an expensive campsite at 410NAD per night for 2 people and camper, lots of ablutions scattered about but you might need to hunt for one with warm water! Two pools but very cold in both. You can arrange various activities at reception but they are again quite expensive. Bars well stocked and reasonable prices but didn't eat here. Lovely location try to get a campsite further along the river such as number 12 or 13, much quieter and a view to die for, watch out for the vet fence, very strict here and will try to take everything they can!

All in all are the 180N$ pp/night way overpriced.
