Stayed one night at Beach area 13 on our way west. Easy access from I-80. Reservations are required but we were able to reserve via phone when we found a site. Thursday before Labor Day, pretty quiet with the exception of the occasional train going by. Beautiful place, expensive for out of state folks though. $14 day use pass and $34 for a basic site without water or electricity. Pay showers are available. Have added it to a list of places we’d like to return for an extended visit.
Report Check-In9/30/23 closed for renovations. Call first. The area is very desolate and hard to navigate in the dark.
Report Check-InWe just relied on first come first serve and there were plenty of spaces in mid September.
Quiet, peaceful. Dark enough for beautiful stars at night. Heard coyotes off in the distance in the morning.
Lots of goats head stickers on the grounds, lots of crickets too this time of year (put my wife off taking a shower unfortunately).
