The police knocked on our window at 1:30. They told us that there been robbery and assault at this location at night. Closest village Chita 5 min away were we moved too.
Report Check-InStill a good location to stay overnight. Lots of space. Just don't park too close to the viewing tower as tourism busses make stops here early in the morning (06:30 AM).
Report Check-InView was great. Just down on the road right after the Mirador, there was a police checkpoint at around noon. The officer was friendly and even spoke some English.
We drove first to the Mirador then to the checkpoint. A Brazilian plated 4x4 drove up to the Mirador after us and two of the officers jumped in their car and sped up the hill after them, didn't see what happened in the end but certainly strange.
Police came and asked us to move to the pueblo because it was too dangerous here… Didn’t really gave us a choice so we moved.
Report Check-Infantastic View, hardly No Traffic, good entel Signal, for us better than to stay in town. downside is the 40km Ride to uyuni and Back. Road toll is 5 bol for both ways.
Report Check-InWow. Stunning place. We rarely wildcamp but after a frustrating search at Uyuni and the salt flats, we decided to stop here. So glad we did.
Report Check-InPerfect to spend the night, beautiful views of the altiplano, roof and tables, very quiet, excellent views of the salar!
Report Check-InNice place to stay overnight. Salar de Uyuni is too far away to have a good view on it. Little noisy during the night, because of the rather busy main road nearby. But the beautiful sunset and the sky full of stars were worth to stay there. Very cold.
Report Check-InGood place for one night. Beautiful sunset of the salar.
A little windy, but quiet and calm.
Beautiful sunset, quiet afternoon and evening with no wind. Peaceful night. Recommend!
Report Check-InSpent the night. No one but us from late afternoon to morning. As it is off the street the sound of passing cars is minimal. Strong winds in the evening. Like most spots in Bolivia there is litter around although they do have trash cans there (which do not seem to be emptied).
Report Check-InNice spot for an overnight camp, we were undisturbed from sunset to sunrise - one coach came in the morning but didn't bother us as there's lots of space here. Mirador isn't even that great so can't imagine it's visited too much! Around 75m off the road and up a hill so you can find some privacy :)
Report Check-Inagree to all that has been said, didn’t stay but seems good , great views of Salar !
Report Check-InBeautiful place but very windy and next to the road. We drove some kilometers west on some Jeep track and spend the night on a hill.
Report Check-InLovely view over the Salar, marked out areas for vehicles, two picnic tables and plenty of space.
Report Check-InMirador Escencio. Free for Camping. We did not stay here but should be ok for all kind of travellers. Picknick tables and little tower.
