Very large river bed that can accommodate dozens of campers. You can access the river bed, when dry and when the water is not high, by following the road on the southeast side of the bridge that cross the Valdez glacier stream.
4wd recommended depending on where you want to go. High clearance necessary, especially if you want to go a little further from the road.
Close to highway, but the noise is minimal if you go a little further south.
Very convenient spot, beautiful views all around.
I camped here during the 4th of July for 3 nights, and there were a lot of campers.
Strong cell service. 5/10 minutes from town.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
the Place just got shut down by the authorities because people where overdoing it and staying down at the riverbed instead of staying up at the road side. What a bummer!
Report Check-InGravel area close to the river. Dispersed camp without facilities.
Each nights, 10 - 15 RVs. Nice view on the river.
We stayed 4 nights. Convenient spot because very close to Valdez, an also to Allison Point.
As noted. Dry river bed. Used to be a gravel source I think. Large area and we accessed it slowly in our 22’ camper van pulling small boat trailer. Beautiful and lots of neighbours. At least 2 bars if not 3-4 bars cell service. We lived the views. Watch for dips and
Larger boulders.
Huge area that can accommodate dozens of vehicles. Next to river. Amazing view.
Report Check-InThis is a gem of a place!! 7-10min from downtown Valdez. Stellar views. Rocky - be careful with some spots as it can dip low. (Came in on sprinter with no problems) No bathrooms/trash cans but there’s plenty trash dumpsters downtown! Please keep this quiet and clean! 2 bars LTE AT&T
Report Check-InNext to a landfill entrance but besides a fast flowing river. About 1/4 mile from the main road. Can even see cars on the highway but no road noise. Beautiful scenery and peaceful other than the sound from the river.
Report Check-InThe terrain is very rugged in some areas. Took us a few attempts to get access with our truck camper however some managed to get a 30’ airstream out there. One of the blocked access routes has a sign that says No Trespassing but people seemed to ignore it and go around through other routes. Most of this area requires good ground clearance and recommend 4wd. There is a lot of sand the further out you drive
