Description

There are a bunch of spots on the main road side and on this side of the dock that have signs that say "Free Parking up to 7 days". I stayed 3 nights (1 in first spot and 2 in the second) without issue. There are bathrooms (flush with sinks) and potable water spigots outside. Area for dogs to pee (please clean up after them). The area is beautiful and other than the gulls (which are everywhere in Alaska) it was pretty peaceful. I will definitely stay again.

Latest Check-Ins

Got a $25 fine for sleeping here. Wouldn’t recommend even though you’re allowed to park for 7 days…apparently parking and sleeping in your self contained vehicle still violates the “no camping” rule

Report Check-In

I got a warning. There are 3 massive parking lots full of camper vans, RVs, locals living out of their cars etc. I asked some born-and-raised in Homer locals who assured me I would be fine to just park my van there for free a few days. Got back and I had a warning sign on my windshield. I walked up and down the parking lots, counting DOZENS of vehicles people were clearly sleeping in, including some massive RVs with CA plates running generators and I was the only one posted. I went elsewhere.

Report Check-In

Short term parking for boaters, but obviously No Camping. We did not stay.

Had city official writing up our vehicles at 8am in the morning. Park here at your own risk.
