Namibia
Campsite renovated. Very nice. Every spot has its own facilities, shower with hot water and toilet. Price 330 Nat pp plus 110 per car. Very wild National Park with a lot of elephants. Very strong signal with MTC 3G H+, a the base station antenna is on site now.
The deep sand roads are bumpy, slow going but not slippery. Estimate 25 L/100km. The northern access is worst, in the park rather easy. Lots of platforms to leave the car and watch the waterholes!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We took the campsite #4, with nice views. 2024 rates are: N$380/pppn & N$110/car (Namibian rate), N$500/pppn (!) & N$130/car (international). So expensive, yes, but worth it. Payment by cash only. Nice shade on site 4. Private ablution ok, good donkey shower, dish basin, trash can, fireplace. Tracks are still quite sandy, but more doable/packed after some rains. But it’s quite bushy and we saw pretty few animals and no elephants atm here in the north. We only saw ellies at Dussi waterhole on our way out from the South gate.
Report Check-InSo I think you need to know this: the entrance from/exit to the north is deep sand, so ca. 5hr drive from B8 Divundu to Khaudum camp, average speed around 10km/hr. Not funny, ruins your car material and your timeplanning.
We paid N$500 park entry fee.
Park was barely visited by tourists at this time, we only saw 2 other cars in 2 days.
Campsite is beautiful, awesome view over the „riverbed“ (dry season), wooden construction for shade, private clean ablution, running water, dish basin, shower, toilet. No power, no wifi. Saw roughly 60 elephants in the middle of the plain at the waterhole. Also some oryx, antilopes, warthogs. Paid N$870 for 2ppn and the car. Yes expensive, but worth the view.
Sadly, huge areas from the lodge/camp area almost to the north exit have burned down, it was still burning at some spots when we passed.
Very nice, large Campsites with private Ablution ans hot showers. We paid for one night 2pers, one car N$ 880.
Report Check-Incamp for one night really ridiculous price 330 per person and 170 per vehicle.
hot water . animals beautiful. owner can do something to better road.
Great treat to reach this splendid campsite after a tuff 55km sand track from the north. It is the start of rainy season so it was a bit easier to navigate the deep sand after some light rain, but not for the faint hearted. There are 6 newly renovated campsites which are all well groomed, spacious and they all have a panoramic view of the river plains. Ivan was a great attendant and it was also nice to speak some Afrikaans! We stayed at campsite 6 (walk-in) and it was perfectly groomed on arrival…I mean even the sand was raked! No electricity, but the private ablutions has a dedicated boiler and small pieces of wood are provided (ND30 per bundle). Flush toilet, running water with basin and kitchen sink. Each site also has a permanent canopy for shade, fire pit and dust bin. Amazing!!!
We paid:
- Conservation Fees: ND20 pppd + ND20 p/vehicle/day
- Entrance Fees: ND20 pppd + ND110 p/vehicle/day
- Camping: ND335 pppd
- Firewood: ND30 per bundle
Not cheap but well worth it. We ended up staying 2x nights!!! This wild and untamed place will see us again!
Report Check-InWell run camp with nice individual camp spots with own ablutions overlooking the Xaudun valley and the elephants and wildebeest roaming through it. We were here in early December and it was easily accessible via sandy roads. Price is now $375 + $110 per vehicle for non-residents, but we were able to negotiate down to the Namibian price ($330).
Report Check-InNice campsite with large campsites and private abolutions. However, very expensive (330 p.p + 110 p. vehicle). Ask for a better price! We stayed for 225 p.p.
Report Check-InThe most beautiful and wild National Park in Namibia! We are here in the wet season, roads are passable everything is green and we have seen good game, considering that the game does not need to come to waterholes at this time of year.
Alex at the Kkaudum Campsite was a star and very helpful, as was James at the Entrance to the National Park.
Highly recommended!!
All as 2018, lodge is still under constuction. They are really proud of their fabulous campsites. No neef to book, cost as 2018, yes 330+110, similiar to Etosha, but amazing, clean and private sites. Manager is Alex 081 3221856, helpful with everything.
Report Check-InOPEN. ND$330 pppn plus ND$110 per vehicle. Massive camp spots. Can fit multiple vehicles. Unfenced. Close to a waterhole. Can enter and leave anytime.
Report Check-InCamp is clean and well kept. Price is ok since the park fees are so low. No need to call ahead. New Park Gate in the North was opened end of Oct 17. Lodge not yet operational but should open March 18. Caretaker for the campsites is in site.
Report Check-InStill clean and very new. The Campsite No. 2 is very nice. 300 NAD p.p is fare to much. Firewood 20 NAD
Report Check-InCampsite renovated. Very nice. Evey spot has its own ablution, shower with hot water and toilet. Price 300 Nat pp plus 100 per car. Very wild National Park with a lot of elephants. Nobody in August. Park Entrance fee 40 Nat pp plus 10 per car.
Report Check-InThese are rustic bush camps. Visitors have to cater for their own food, fuel and equipment. Contact beforehand to confirm if there is water. Camping is currently free because the camp is rundown and rustic, you will only pay park entry fees.
