Description

When it was obvious we wouldn't reach Panajachel at daylight, we tried at this huge restaurant/event center along the Panamerican. There is a watch tower with armed guard in the middle of the parking lot. At reception we asked whether we could stay, if we would eat. The manager speaks English. No problem, we were asked to park to the left, at an angle (space for busses). Diner was wonderful, mixed grill and a bottle of good wine. Price level is same as Europe (65 euro, diner for 2 with wine). But best steak since months! And it was our anniversary; so we had good excuse to spend. Night was quiet, toilets open during opening hours (very modern and clean).

As described, a good place for a night. The meal was expensive but very good. Not too loud at night. I wanted to add a photo and correct the altitude

Stayed the night here with another overlander. Great spot with a beautiful view. Restaurant closes at 8 and there are guards everywhere. Must arrive before that time since I don't think they'll let anyone in after closing. They did ask us to consume at their restaurant.
