Such a great and remote place in the middle of the desert, directly at the Judah thumb. It's easy to access, you'll need just a bit more ground clearance, but normally no 4x4 (even though it helps of course, when you wanna drive around here).
The scenery is really stunning, some people came along and asked, if we're in need of help, but that was it.
We also had mobile connection here (STC)
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Follow the track shown in Google maps. It's a good dirt road, with any type of car you can easily drive until ~100 meters before the Judah thumb.
Report Check-InBeautiful site. We were the only ones there mid week.Hard packed sand road all the way, any vehicle could make it plenty of room. Rubbish dumpsters but no other services. Decent cell coverage on STC.
Report Check-InGreat places and we have met great Saudi people that were also camping here. On friday it is very busy. In the last village at a mosque or school, we filled up water. Phone reception is very bad.
Report Check-InEasy acces, beautiful spot to camp. We had internet (STC) but not very fast. If you follow the tracks deeper into the desert and turn right at the fence (and follow it) you can find more nice spots and even a track up the cliffs. That track has a big hole in it so 4x4/low gear only I guess.
Report Check-InAwesome campspots around Juda Thumb. Stunning view and easy to access. The gravel/sand road is of course a bit bumpy but should be doable without 4wd too.
Report Check-InVery nice desert, much space around. Firm sand to drive around. There are some nice valley further along the ridge. No internet with Stc there.
Very busy at weekends.
