Description

Just North of all the tourist craziness is a short road to the right if you’re heading north called river road right by the power plant. There are 6 picnic tables and pull outs along with three trash cans. On the other side of the road from the picnic areas is PowerPlant Property wetlands that are fenced off. For around 4 hours deer, turkeys, 3 foxes and other cool wildlife came to the fence line to feed. So if you sit in the area quietly it’s like a nature show.

No bathrooms
4 bars of lte
Quiet at night
There is no signage saying you can’t sleep here at night. The only signs here say not to go into the wetlands. I was here with two other Vans and had a very peaceful night.

for a little more privacy, if you are in a car or suv, there is one side of the fence that has (small) space for 2-3 cars surrounded by brush just off the road. can get slick when it rains but feels secluded from road traffic.

Report Check-In

My internet connection (Rogers) was really bad, maybe because of the trees. Speaking of which, you park under oaks which dropped a lot of acorns, so watch where you park if you have solar panels or are worried about your roof.

As described, free overnight parking. Several others were already here when we arrived. Quiet place to spend the night, but picnic tables/“sites” are close to each other, so little privacy. Not very good reception for AT&T and lots of trees so not good for starlink either.

We stayed here for 1 night in a 19ft van. Very quiet night. If you want one of the 'sites' get there before 6. We arrived at 7pm, they were taken, but still lots of space to park and sleep.

As described, a quiet road with some picnic tables and shady trees. Several occupants already here on a Monday night, everything from cars to large busses.

Really good spot near Niagara. Shared with 4x RVs and cars. Quiet and felt safe.

awesome boondock location! busy during the day, but emptied out at night. quiet, and beautiful! some spots have firepit and garbage cans.

Emplacement correct pour une nuit, proche des chutes. Nous avons pu y placer 4 tentes. De nombreuses places disponibles. L'endroit est néanmoins un peu bruyant du fait de travaux à côté. Plusieurs tables et bancs sont à disposition.

We were alone after 7pm, people park here to walk the parkway so it’s looks busier than it really is. No one bothered us. We saw 2 deer and a fawn and the fox. Hidden gem outside the hussle and bustle of the tourist area

We just woke up after a lovely night to the sound of a park system truck. We thought that might be the end of our stay, but they were just here to empty the trash. Highly recommended. Quiet and very close to attractions.

Slept here on 7/1 in our Subaru. It seemed a bit busy at first, but after the Canada Day fireworks, it was very quiet and peaceful. There was another car camping and we both kept to ourselves.

Nice day time use parking. Some garbage left behind by some entitled. Some road noise. Lots of shade. Hard hiking trail close by with only 10 minute bike ride on dangerous narrow road. No fresh water nearby. Two garbage cans.

Awesome little shaded spot and seen tons of amazing wild life animals. Nobody bothered us and very nice people we met taking photos of the animals. Met a nice gentlemen who showed me some amazing photos he had taken here at this location and wow they were beautiful!! Thanks for the location sharing everyone.

Good place outside the busy center. Cycled to Main Street and stayed 2 quiet nights at the parking. Seen racoon, squirrels, deer, turkeys and many birds.

Poubelle sur place ainsi que des tables

SKUNKS! Wonderful locat, as previous posts states, but we were confined to our van shortly after sunset (while still light) by several skunks that slowly scoured the area for food, until completely dark, or later.

stayed here last night. it works. as described- small park across from power plant. not exactly sure why anyone would picnic across from a power plant- but whatever. quite- but the street isn’t far, so you’ll hear some traffic. it dies down at night though. lots of trees here. i backed my subaru and teardrop trailer into a spot. but i wouldn’t go much bigger than that here. maybe a small C Class could park here for the night. no Class A’s. cell very good- 3 bars 5G TMobile / 3 bars LTE VERIZON. saw a small fox in the morning.

Some little spots beside a picknicktable, quiet, no signs that overnight parking was prohibited.

We had a little chat in the morning with a park ranger and he said people crash here every weekend and he didn't seem to mind. A fox kept a close eye on us in case we left some food. Nice place!

Great place to stay, about a 10 minute drive away from the Falls. We slept in the car but could be suitable for a tent (without much intimacy given you're close to the road).
Many animals across the fence at dusk and dawn.

nous avons passé la nuit ici. un endroit comme il devrait y en avoir partout.

perfect! we were alone, but there's à lot of space for others. it's like little camping spots.

Wonderful location , saw foxes and deers at dusk ! We had a great time here . Alone there , had a very quiet sleep .

Great spot. Perfectly quiet. No one bothered us - just the foxes who came mooching food. One correction. Its a right turn coming south on the parkway - not north as originally reported.

Stayed here one night. Came in just as it was getting dark. A little after we arrived another car drove in and stopped for a little bit but never got out of their car, looked like they were on the phone. There was some noise over night from cars driving on the road but it was pretty quiet and we slept well. There was another car parked in the morning and a few cars came in and parked before we left in the morning but there were no more than 2 others there at a time. Park service garbage collection came to empty the garbage at 7:30 am and at 9:30 am. There were animal sounds at night and in the morning, lots of bird sounds. We saw a skunk at night come out of the bushes behind us at night and a fox in the morning while we were still in the camper. There was a fair amount of noise in the morning from construction on the power plant across the way and trucks and such inside from the fence right by this test stop. It was perfect for staying overnight.

Fantastic spot. As described, peaceful and convenient. Would stay again 100%

small pullout /park with a few picnic tables and area to park next to each. We pulled in around 10:30pm last night (Sunday) and there was 1 van parked. We woke to a few guys walking around taking pictures… Of Foxes and other animals like Black Squirrels and Skunks. very cool. There were 3 Fox cubs, multiple squirrels, blue jays, Woodpeckers etc. Someone came and laid bird seed and peanuts at the base of the trees on the fence, which is what they were feeding on.

This place felt safe, but did have some litter around from people not trashing their trash.

Great little spot 10 minutes away from the main falls.

Report Check-In

we stayed here for 4 nights in am SUV and had no issues. parks rangers came by and emptied trash cans and didn't have an issue with us being here.

when we arrive at 6h30 pm , we decided to go in town with our bike but before we leave between 5 or 6 car pass by and don't stop . I was questioned myself if it's right to be there ... I just put down my anxious thoughts and go in town . when we come back by 10 pm a police office came to questioning us . We said : we will going to leave in the morning, explain our plan match and they let us stay and say good night . we had quiet night.
