Tent sites only. Must call ReserveAmerica to make a reservation.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Like others reported great tent only site campground but a small van like mine was not an issue. The single pit toilet was one of the cleanest I have seen. Cell reception good on Verison. If you can located Old Jennings road and turn right on Live Oak Lane you will have no problem getting to the campground.
Report Check-InSeveral tent sites present. Each is large and spread out with two sand platforms and a fire pit. Its tent camping only. You have to either call or make a reservation with ReserveAmerica. You can also reserve through the forest service website but it is older and more clunky (prices are the same). One site cost 9$ + 6$ reservation fee + 1$ tax so 16$ in total. Campground is quiet. Apple maps won’t route you to the correct spot but Google Maps will. You will be put out on packed sand forest service roads. They are occasionally marked with arrows towards the campsite. Not sure how they fair after rains but I was able to make it out here on my bicycle when not wet. The forest service people come in the morning to check reservations around 10am. They also maintain and leaf blow the area. No alcohol is allowed. It is a nice, quiet, and dark place to camp and I slept very well. No hookups. I got between 1 and 2 bars of 5G Verizon, it was enough to stream audio of a podcast and make calls. Also I didn’t see them until leaving but it appears they had a bathroom and I would assume it was a pit toilet.
