Description

Informal campsite in a playground. all facilities, toilets, shower, water tap refill, 3 swimming pools. Gate closed at night and hidden from the main road, very calm. Also a restaurant opened on Saturday and Sunday but we were staying there during the week, so didnt try.
250 lampiras per night (2 adults, 2 kids of 4 and 6).
Update 02/2023: were told 10 US/250 L PER PERSON now
Better to call the owner before arriving as the gate was closed when we arrived at 5pm : +504 33 60 90 34.
Maybe one of the best places in Honduras as the ones existing in the app are mainly gas stations or non-secured parking.

January 2024: All the same like mentioned in previous comments.
The owner Roger asked us to share our nice experience, when he took us to his daughters farm up the hill. It's a nice walk about 30 Minutes one way. There is a beautiful view point where you can sit and enjoy the nice few. People are very friendly and welcoming.

We paid twenty bucks for a Saturday night. The pool was great and the cold showers worked fine. But then the religious revival started playing noise passing for music at ear shattering decibels until mercifully the heavens open at eleven pm and rain stopped play.
Then at 5 am Sunday morning gunfire woke us out of a deep sleep. Followed immediately by 45 minutes of ear shattering noise passed off as music. Then silence.
Perhaps weekdays may not be as shattering to the nervous system but we’d have to be fools or totally desperate to risk it.
Your twenty bucks, your choice.

Thought we would do the smart thing and message on Facebook beforehand. Got told it's 10 US=250 L PER PERSON. Tried haggeling, even tried the below mentioned move and showed older posts for reference. Unfortunately they wouldn't move a single cent and 20 US was too much for us for a pass-through station outside the city. Maybe you better show up to do it in person? Don't know. Can't say something regarding the place itself, sorry!

Dommage. N’hésitez pas allez y ! Simple mais très bien.

a large Eventos area where they have lots of weddings and birthday parties. nice place kind of up in the mountains so it's a little cooler, but not much. the old owner was very friendly and showed us immediately where everything was and seemed genuinely happy to have visitors. he speaks some English. he asked for 20 dollars, but I said that the previous post says 250L (which is half the price) and he agreed. I talked to the owners grandson (who also speaks English) through the Facebook page for this place, because the number listed is not a WhatsApp number, to confirm the gate would be open and we could stay. no problems. when we arrived the owner said, "at night, when you stay here, this place is yours. In the morning when you leave, you give it back". lots of space for a few big rigs. no height or width restrictions. shady areas to hang out during the day but we were only staying for the night. an excellent place to stop in Honduras if you don't want to cross two borders in one day. dog friendly!
