Very cool place. Love the creations of buildings that house kitchen, composting toilet, greenhouse shower. Their cat eats birds. That was sad. Wonderful people. thanks firefly garden for a peaceful nights stay. We did have to stay in the street but okay.
80q.

Was a nice stay, very quiet, even over the weekend. Starlink available therefore good internet. 80 QT per night. At 14.609633, -91.248753 turn into a dirt road and drive through a private gate after 270m you have reached your destination.

Highly recommend this place!
We came with our van, looking for 2 nights to stay. Johnathan welcomed us kindly showing us the space and we immediately fell in love with it's nature, amenities, human and animal souls. The nights we slept so good, due to the quietness and magical stars and fireflies outside. We also did a nice hike with a stunning view, got to Santiago's town and to the Musical Yoga Farm.
Perfect place to stay for short and long term.
Thank you for everything FIREFLY GARDENS :)

we were so lucky we found this place. Cheyo and his friends were extremely helpful. We were able to build our bed there, Cheyo offered us to use all his equipment and a lot of valuable advice. We also lent us his guitar, woke up at night to let us into the tiny house when we locked ourselves out and he took us to his mechanic. The list of his actions of kindness is long to make it short. This place is magical and beautiful in the middle of nature and so close to Santiago city at the same time. We often ate all together and it was a very cozy and family like atmosphere. we would love to come back and are still very grateful for Cheyos help. can only highly recommend this place with all the animals, mountains, djungel and warm people around.

What a lovely little find.
Cheyo, family and friends are wonderful hosts. Nothing but kindness and hospitality.
Quiet little place, in the Forrest a short lift to Santiago where you can do or get anything you need.
Cheyo can provide anything you need, give advice, recommendations or take you up a mountain. There is amazing little steep trail up the road where you can have amazing sunrise or sunset views.
It is a solar shower but the hottest shower I have had in months.
Compost toilet but very well kept, neat tidy and inviting place.
They even have wifi if needed
We hope to revisit this new family of ours on our way back north but have a commitment and so after 3 lovely nights, we had to say goodbye for the short term.
They have a small bungalow for rent on Airbnb and currently building another.
Shared kitchen, well priced and HIGHLY recommended.

Nice, small camp site run by Cheyo, a very friendly and helpful young Mayan assisted by Jonathan a spiritual interested North American.

Everything is kinda experimental. The compost toilet works fine. The solar shower I haven't tried.
The kitchen area is very basic so you better drive to Santiago or jump on a pickup for 50 cents.

The area is about 1 km from the lake shore in a quiet forrest at the bottom of a decent hill located.

In the centre is a small house for 2 people to rent.

I highly recommend this place due to the friendly atmosphere!

Wow. If you are looking for a spot that is tucked away from the tourists and not hoy time on a Canadian owned local ran hostel this is a great stop. We spent one week here. We made it in our 13m skoolie 10,000kg 41ft 22,000 lb and had a neighboring skoolie about the same size maybe slightly smaller. 2 full sized RV’s fit no problem. The gate is tight but we both made it. Avocado trees, limes, lemons, and just an abundance of nature. Our neighbor skoolie decided to stay for 3 whole months!! Check pictures for updates. 2 composting toilets, Electricity for charging batteries, water for filling tanks, kitchen, shower with HOT WATER!! This was just an amazing place and highly recommend. Just at the end of the road are the collectivos who charge 5q to ride to town where they have massive markets on the weekends. Weather was +\- 25c/75f and low was 15c/58f in January but colder in February. This is a jungle spot with hiking trails that will truly blow your mind. Highly giggle recommend. We paid 300q for one week for no hookups, fruit for our kitchen and helping build some things around. We are 2 adults and 2 children. Just talk with chello and ask for pricing. It’s super flexible depending on what you do for him around. But no work is required to stay. This is like a hippie commune during early January where people flock here and volunteer. We were here after this however.

We stayed here for a month with our 37ft Skoolie and parked right in front. We had access to wifi and power for when we needed to recharge our batteries. We even had friends show up in their Skoolie. It's a really great little community garden nestled in the rainforest and just a short walk to Lake Atitlán.

It's also a really short trip to Santiago to check out the market and get whatever supplies you need.

cheyo wasn't here, wasn't available on the phone.
the place looks nice, but we didn't stayed since there was no one to talk to and no where to park.

The caretaker's name is Cheyo, he is a local Mayan who knows the area well and is very friendly and helpful. He also offers local coffee for sale and guided volcano hikes. We had such a lovely experience here, what a magical place, in the heart of Mayaland! To stay here arrange by calling Cheyo Whatsapp: +502 3326 2086 *note, Cheyo speaks Spanish and Mayan
