the area is on the right side of the road to Tortel, it is a wide and flat gravel area, surrounded by trees, which provides good protection from the wind. access is very friendly for all types of vehicles and is hidden from the road. very quiet during the day and night.

Since we are a bit early for the ferry leaving Puerto Yungay, we stay around Tortel for a couple of days. Try some of the wildcamps around. This one is not the most scenic one, but definitely a good spot to stay: it’s flat, there’s enough space, it’s hidden from the road, wind protected and there is access to the river (walk a little path through the forest). Despite the trees it has some views on the river and the surrounding mountains aswell. We had a very quiet stay here. Accessible for all vehicles. No telephone reception (with Movistar). Two red cats walking around, looking hungry. We gave them something to eat.
