Our favourite place in 3 weeks of travelling. Beautiful location by river. Ponds; you can cool off in one of them. Stunning bird life. Howler monkeys. Great view of Arenal in morning. Clean loos and showers. Very welcoming hosts. Kitchen area and BBQs. Power if you have a long lead. Could have stayed for much longer than our 2 nights. Close to La Fortuna for shops etc. Lots of tours etc if that’s your thing but we just stayed out and enjoyed the forest and the river.

What a paradise! An oasis of peace with good cleaning facilities, a half-hour walk from La Fortuna. We arrived at the end of the afternoon. Went to dinner at La Fortuna in the evening. Received a lift from the manager and her family!! The walk back was easy! And how wonderful to return from the hustle and bustle of the city to this oasis of peace with only the sounds of animals and the river in the background. We stayed 1 night with a campervan. we paid a total of 20,000 colones.

The place is great. In no way comparable to La Fortuna Camping Marco. I think you should visit both. CLF is family, WiFi and Wildlife, and close to the city and Lagos is a nicely landscaped area with lots of fan palms, birds, river sounds, no WiFi. Both places are wonderful. Each 5000pp.

Camp ground is as described. It’s stunningly beautiful and we would have stayed more that 2 days but we needed to have wifi especially at night when it was just raining buckets. After our 2 nights here we moved over to Camping La Fortuna with very fast wifi but no lights yet in the new toilets. You can’t have everything!

This place is amazing. Muy tranquilo. Surrounded by beautiful forest, this campground is the perfect base camp for exploring the Arenal area. It feels very safe. There’s no WiFi so if you’re remote working that might be difficult. Liberty is 3G. Bathrooms and showers are super clean. You can run a power chord from one of the rooms or the bathroom. I guess you’d have to ask to do so but I saw a couple of other campers doing that. 10k for a couple in a van. No charge for a dog.

We inquired about camping, $10pppn & $5 per kid per night. Beautiful grounds, but we did not stay.

This place is paradise! 4 tiny homes/cabanas and separated parking spaces for camping or rooftop tenting. Camping in our rooftop tent is only 5k pp/pn(10k for 2pp). Beautiful, fast-moving river steps away to soak in on hot afternoons. Well kept bathrooms, showers, and community kitchen area. Grounds are green lush and beautiful, with lots of grassy areas and gravel paths with underground eragation to prevent mud in rainy season. It is very well thought out and maintained. A must stay in Fortuna. Very weak to no cell reception down in camping/garden area, but you can get WiFi at reception. We are the only people staying overnight here, so far. Very nice and beautiful campground. A bit more expensive (we payed 30000 colones for 2 nights) but if you can efford it you should absolutely do it. Super groomed garden and very good facilities. Would definitely recommend it!

Wonderful place with plenty camping space, trails and a nice spot to swim in the river. Entrance is through the Diagonal 301 road, in front of the Montessori school.

Very nice place, friendly service, clean bathrooms. We felt very welcomed by the hosts guiding us to be able to park and find a good place with shade. In the morning beautiful bird songs, flora and beauty of the spectacular lagoons and the sound of the river, made this a perfect place ❤️ The place also has tables, laundry and kitchen utensils, a few minutes from downtown La Fortuna. An excellent choice, great views Volcan Arenal

This campground was amazing! Beautifully landscaped, clean bathrooms and showers. Pavilions, picnic tables and grills. The river in the background made for a wonderful sleep.

This place is really beautiful and peaceful. There’s a nice restaurant nearby with delicious smoothies. Clean bathrooms.
The only downside was that we didn’t had phone reception (Claro) and there is no wifi.

Beautiful and well maintained place, absolutely quiet (except some rushing noise from the river). Walking to the waterfall is about 1 hour per way, to the village maybe 15 minutes. Also the Bogarin trail (recommended) is within walking distance. The manager and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely stunning place right next to the river. Price is ok for this area (10000 for two).

Holy moly, this is one of the most beautiful campgrounds we’ve stayed at in 8+ years of full-time travel. The grounds are landscaped so beautifully. Swimming pool and flowing river. Clean bathrooms with shower. Sink and counters for dishes and other chores. Covered picnic tables, the best part during rainy season. A goose and duck who are obviously very best friends. If the tropical storm hadn’t been coming through, we would’ve stayed here for days. As it is, hoping to visit again while we’re in the country. The groundskeeper Eddie was a sweetheart. Only c10,000/night.

Update: we stayed 3 more nights in late July and had a marvelous stay. The weather was really nice and Caspian spent a lot of time in the pool. The only sad part was the goose wasn’t there anymore and I’m afraid something happened to him. The duck seemed really lonely.

Beautiful and well kept grounds with small lakes, a swimming pond, clean bathrooms and a kitchen area. Best thing is the access to the river. We stayed 3 nights in our camper van and paid 30,000c. Only a couple roof top tenter there the second night otherwise we had the place to ourselves. Short drive to the waterfall and 20min walking into town. Only thing I can think of to make this place a 10/10 would be Wifi and some hammocks.

super nice little spot that someone has put a lot of work into. has all of the amenities. right next to a fast flowing creek. 20 bucks though and literally overflowing with people. room for like 10 spots but there were 14 cars here on our one night stay. the owner allowed us to have our 2 dogs, on leash, even though he was savagely attacked by a dog that took a chunk out of his leg that still had a bandage on it. so keep that in mind. Google maps doesn't work to this spot. you have to take the right at the intersection before the bridge where everyone is swimming, then you will see a small hand painted rock on your left in 1/2km. pretty, but expensive and crowded.

This is a wonderful place to overnight. Quiet and close to La Fortuna. Good also to teach with big rigs. Restrooms clean with cold water. A lot of animals to see around. Highly recommended.

beautiful, quiet place near a lake and a river. Small kitchen and three clean toilets/showers. We paid 12,000 colon each for one night with a 4x4 with rooftent.

What a beautiful place to camp.

The well maintained garden has colorful flowers and palmtrees.

The owner is a bit funny and friendly. It is a little hard to find but once your here it is all worth it.
We stayed next to the river Fortuna (you can swim in it). We had a lot of space around us.

There are three showers and toilets, all clean.
A small kitchen to cook a simple meal.

We paid 12.000 col. For two people and a Jeep with rooftent. It might be a bit expensive but it is well deserved.

Really recommended!
