Description

Mine Canyon is a primitive camping area in Ute State Park. Enter from south side, on Quay Rd. Main road to boat dock is paved. There are several pull outs off compact dirt roads (perfectly suitable for passenger sedans), right by the water. Very open area, beautiful sunrise. 2 pit toilets and garbage cans, but otherwise, no amenities. Decent 4g Verizon signal and 5G signal with AT&T. $8, self pay by check or cash.

Beautiful. Camped right on the lake. I’m in a van and only one other camper, a bus. Well with the $8.

Multiple sites along the lake shore. Still $8 per day self registered. No other campers in late October.

Primitive lakeside camping with terrific views and self check-in ($8/night) by cash or check. Very quiet and private this time of year. Spent five nights and had the entire area to myself. I would imagine it’s much busier during on-season. Occasional wind storm blew in but overall decent weather for autumn. Stayed at a private cove with its own little beach front (35.3395181, -103.4926690) just off one of the larger clearings. But the entrance in is a bit rough, may not be for all vehicles. Cell service (T-Mobile) was good.

This place is a gem! Now mind you, it is 29 miles off the highway…but worth it. Beautiful landscape, clean and for $8 the views are outstanding. We are in a van and all the spots were perfectly level. We were the only ones here and could hear a pin drop, so peaceful and quiet. Great place for pets to run around and explore as well. Our dog loved it.
