Flat parking lot with piers/water on 3 sides. 24 hr Pay to Park May1-September 30. Free in off season. We saw several other lots with RVs near by. This lot was wide open when we arrived in November. A few groups of happy young adults gathered to hang out and play music, and left by 11 pm. A police car cruised by once that we saw. Bay Shore is the nearby town and it has many shops, grocery etc. Several restaurants on the pier. A great find.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Ok spot for the night, and free now. Youngsters until well after midnight, but talking no music. Traffic on the pier starts up 6:30 am, so it will be a short one.
Report Check-InStayed one night in a lot that’s right down the road from this one and is cheaper with 24hr and 12hr parking spots. Cop came by once without issue. Quite night other than some deer passing through and decent amount of restaurants and bars nearby within walking distance for a night on the town.
Report Check-InHuge parking area for Fire Island Ferries to the left and go straight to the marina/Whalers restaurant/bar. Wide open free overnight off season Oct to April. May to Sept is $20 /24 hr or can do up to 72 hours for a fee. Hop on the ferry to Fire Island for a fun day trip. Need to fit in a standard spot, 18’ maybe 20’ van or car. Maybe get away with a bigger rig, but you’d draw attention to yourself. Clam chowder and lobster Mac & Cheese is great at Whalers. Other restaurant shack looks more authentic, I wanted the bar.
