Botswana
Our campsite at The Plot is ideally situated as it is in striking distance of Lekhubu (Kubu) Island, Orapa Game Park and Diamond Museum and Central Kalahari Game Reserve, or CKGR as it’s also commonly known.
Just outside of Letlhakane camping allows for tranquility away from the bustle of this vibrant village, and it is just off the road to Lekhubu (Kubu) Island.
The campsite has an outdoor bathroom with flush toilet, basin and shower. Hot water is available through a donkey boiler.
A braai and bush oven makes cooking convenient and the firepit allows one to sit around the glow of a fire at night.
The small pond attracts a great diversity of birds and small animals.

Very nice and cosy place, perfectly built. Private place with kitchen area and private ablutions. It is like camping in a private garden.
Report Check-InAs others have mentioned, a small Oasis in the bush. Definitely worth a night stay even if just to experience sitting and watching the night sky. Note for motorcycle riders, some patches of reasonably deep sand, perhaps a few hundred metres but enough to make things difficult for the inexperienced rider or those on large ADV bikes. Also lacks shade for those pitching tents but it's a work in progress and Pete is constantly improving the site. Really enjoyed our stay there.
Report Check-InA super campsite with everything you need.....bbq oven, firepit, Bush oven, solar light, donkey fuelled hot shower and flushing toilet. But this does not give you the full story......it has been made with love......the bathroom is a garden oasis with a gorgeous outside shower and loo with a view. The kitchen area is perfect for enjoying an evening around the bbq with friends. Pete and Sue are so welcoming and helpful, please contact them before stopping by. We had a fun half hour feeding their goats and chatting. This is not a business, you are valued guests and we were very happy to donate to the upkeep of the goats!
Report Check-InPete and Sue welcomed us in their garden at 100 meters from their home, in the bush at some kilometers from the city.
You had to call them or whatsapp because it is their home and may be they will be not here.
They dont charge for camping but you had to give donations for their goats. We stayed 2 nights. It is quiet, well done (donkey shower, bench, small solar panel for lights, brai, oven...). We could feed the 7 goats at 4 pm every day so if you have kids or you like animals, it is nice. Good stop on the road to CKGR or Lekhubu island. We liked it : 3/5.
a very nice campsite for only one car. We stayd with our MAN Truck, but we are lucky that’s we not longer. I think 7.50 m is the longest. The place is like a little paradise. Hot water with a donkey, but you must make the fire by your self. A flashing toilet, very nice handwashbasket and the shower with a bushbasket. Braii and Fireplace. Bring your own firewood with. Pete and Sue are very nice and friendly people. We enjoyed the stay and we can it very recommended for a stopover on the way to Kubu Island.
Report Check-InNice private campsite with an excellent bathroom. There's only one pitch and you need to book ahead. The owner, Pete, will give directions and show you around. Donkey boiler for hot water, picnic bench, braai area etc. Highly recommended.
Report Check-InThe small private space in the middle of a garden is very well maintained. The sanitary facilities are all in a lovingly designed outdoor area. Hot water for showering is made with a donkey. Braai area, firewood and total tranquility. Only the whistling of the birds and the rustling of the leaves in the wind could be heard. Pete and his wife are very friendly and helpful. A bit difficult to find. Tracks 4 Africa is helpful.
Report Check-InLovely little spot, thoughtfully put together. Pete’s directions very easy to follow… just connect beforehand.
Report Check-InMet Pete at the gate following his perfect instructions. Lovely camp site with a shower and toilet extremely clean. Donations are asked for and well deserved.
Lovely stop between khama rhino and kubu island
Perfect camping spot enroute to Central Kalahari or Magadigadi.
Very Friendly Hosts.
Tucked away 1km off the road.
Lovely camp with hot water, showers, toilets etc all clean and perfect.
Please tip the hosts to keep this place in impeccable condition.
Lovely campsite as described by others. If you are navigating by T4A and traveling from Letlhakane, be sure to take the well defined road on the left BEFORE the turn-off indicated by T4A. This road will merge with that on T4A and will take you to the gate.
Note that there is only one site, so it's best to contact Pete to make sure it's yours. There is another site planned.
Tried to find this place, but with no signs on the road and not wanting to try every dirt track into the bush we gave up and returned to the very noisy Tuuthebe Lodge instead. Disappointed.
Report Check-InReally beautiful private campsite, a great place to relax and re-energise. Outdoor bathroom was great, with lots of plants. Pete was an incredible host and really helped us out with vehicle issues. He even let us borrow his car to go shopping when our car was out of action. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and really felt at home.
Quite difficult to find so I’d recommend contacting beforehand for directions +26774839528
