$15 for hookup & water, road in is paved and safe, lots of RVs w kayaks! We are in our sprinter van on RV #5 and it’s flat and great. Lots of flat spaces for your vehicles, bring cash or check for the BLM pay box. Very quiet and lovely by the water! Fire pit and picnic tables at sites. We got here in the afternoon and there were some spots left still. Bathrooms, recycling, trash. Worth it and would come again!

All 6 of the camp grounds along this road are now run by Rio Grande National Monument who have made a great job updating all the sites, some with electric hookup 15$, dry and tent camping only 5$pn, concessions for seniors. Plenty of info about trails at the Rio Grande Visitors Centre on the main road. No cell signal, otherwise lovely place to stay right by the river.

Pretty small campground with only THREE tent spots the rest are RV spots. Tents were all taken so I pulled into an RV spot and the camp host wanted to charge me for the full RV hook up price $15 instead of $7. There were 3 other open RV spots the whole night. So i clarified and said i just have a rooftop tent and i wasnt using any hook ups. He replied “that’s an RV spot ain’t it?” Camp host was also pretty unfriendly and told me he had no change for a 20 at all. Most camp hosts carry cash so it sounded like BS to me. Probably didn’t want to get change for us at 9pm. Campground was also loud with a crying baby. The other camps up the road were all full so we were stuck with this one for the night. I’d advise going elsewhere if you have a choice.
