Big flat space for a big rig or a few smaller rigs. The road is in bad condition - only suitable for higher clearance vehicles.
Decent T-Mobile coverage. Two bars on Verizon.

As others have mentioned it's a deeply rutted road. It was fine in my 4x4 and maybe even a high clearance 2x4 would be fine depending on you skill and comfort. this was the first flat spot up from West Yellowstone.
Report Check-InAttempted to get here in our 2WD Sprinter. We made it nearly All the way but the last bit was too much for us to handle. Really deey rutted as other reviews mention, very challenging and tough terrain. Only high clearance and off road cars should be up here. Managed to turn around on the road and head back to the USFS 1700 site which is where we are now.
Report Check-Innice clearing. mosquitoes are bad. it's 30-45 minute drive up from Iris on a road that requires a capable 4-wheel drive vehicle (no Subies 😉) it is steep and deeply rutted.
Report Check-InThe road up here (top of the mountain) is pretty rough. Many of the smaller turnouts are filled with stacks of branches - this area is big enough even with the pile of dead wood. Large and level spot, no view, with cell coverage. Good for one night.
Report Check-InBig flat area could possibly fit 3 minivans. you be the judge (see photos). very quiet and have 2 bars Verizon.
