Description

All camping sites were full in Capitol Reef campsite. As we drove out of the park we noticed campers parked in an open area. No facilities and charge to camp here. Some open areas have fire pits too. Great internet access.

Apple map has this as Trail 2111. Signs post no motorized vehicles on trails. Pack in pack out. Area is clean and it looks like people have been respectful of that practice. I counted 34 rock fire pits, but more areas to stop for a stay. Rocky entrance from highway but cars, vans, converted bus, travel trailer, and 5th wheels all stay here last night.

Report Check-In

Clean, felt safe, road noise not bad. Very close to CRNP Entrance Sign (near MM 73). Good for vans, big rigs, tents. Porta potties was only amenity. Pack it in, Pack it out. TMobile 2-4 bars 5G, depending on sight. Worked from my phone’s hotspot just fine.

Report Check-In

This is a very large dispersed camping area. So I think covers both the sites listed here. Wet open. And very windy night now! Beautiful views and just a a short bit after the park ends. Dirt road into the area. We could see lots of rigs from the road. No porta potties I could see. Tons of space. I’m sure it’s packed in high season.
