Definitely do not try this road in a car/truck/van during winter. I got stuck three times trying to get in/out (type 2 fun). It's unplowed, unmaintained snowmobile road with a firm center that transitions into total moosh within 6in. I'm lucky to have made it out. Almost popped the bead on my tires dropping pressure to 20psi and slowly working my way out in reverse.

Report Check-In

Great location, road wasn’t terrible and very quiet all night. No service with Verizon

Report Check-In

found this site via iOverlander after a 10 hour day of driving; I was tired and needed a quiet place to sleep. coming from east, this is a left turn. I counted 7 pull offs to camp, 2 wide spots in the road plus, the big turn around at the dead end (people were overnighting in it).

road in is ~1.2 miles, only a couple of pot hole type rough spots. secluded, quiet, great spot. you can see the milky way in a clear night.

after arriving and parked in a wide spot near the end of the road, forest service and state police drove in. didn't say anything to me.

So I ended up staying here based on the previous information provided. I tried to find a space the previous night but it was full, so come extremely early if you want a space. T-Mobile doesn’t work, at&t had one bar and starlink didn’t work in my space. Fairly quiet with the exception of people looking for a space so if you park to far back you might have someone pull in thinking your space is empty. Two spots look like they have permanent residents…lol. Be careful if you walk your dogs, people do fly up and down the main road. I did hear one gun shot during the day, night sure why but it was off in the distance. Overall I would recommend, just come prepared. No bathrooms, no hookups and nowhere to dump your trash.

On a Friday in late May, every spot was taken. Most seemed to be by long-term folks. Saw a lot of trash in some of the campsites. Otherwise it would be beautiful.

Report Check-In

This road is inaccessible in the winter. Completely unplowed. Snowmobiles might work but no parking really. be careful, most campsites and forest roads around here are the same deal.

All of the spots were full when we came in at 2pm on a Tuesday. One spot was taken by some folks who looked like they were here long-term. We continued to the very end and stayed at the big open area up the steep little hill. We were able to get up it in our 2WD Promaster. Not sure if it was an official campsite but there is a fire ring. Occasionally got one Verizon bar, and had one or two AT&T bars. Quiet at night, although a car came and parked nearby in the evening and left a condom on the ground, so it may be a teenage hangout spot.

We stayed in the first spot on the left. It was nice although there was garbage over the embankment. In the morning DEC came and asked us when we had arrived and where abouts we were from, from what I gathered theres certain locals that made that there dumping grounds. As we were leaving they were coming in the clean up what the people had left at a different spot down the road so Im assuming they went to clean up what they could. Stayed here once before at a site up the right across from a logging area(which i think are the coordinates for "forest service road" on the map) and that was I think was a bit nicer. No service at all

Report Check-In

Gate closed. Road not accessible as of 4/14/2021

Report Check-In

Beware access is closed until season opening on May 1st. Verizon/Visible not good here.

A nice and quiet spot in the Green Mountain National Forest... I'm here for a few days on a writing retreat in my mobile writing cabin.

Report Check-In

Drove to the end of this road and found a huge free campsite. I was happy that there was no litter or refuse that I could see. Did not stay the night but I did stay long enough to say hi to a few campers. All very pleasant folk.

Report Check-In

Real lovely and quiet despite a lot of trash and poop

Report Check-In

Stayed for a night but wish we could have stayed longer. We saw 2 sites but there may be more up the road. Each site is privately off the road and with a firepit.

Report Check-In

Tried to camp in the winter. Snow on the ground and being used for snowmobiles. However the road is “open”. I had to look for another spot.

Report Check-In

Nice off road sites. Quiet. Fall colours make the drive in spectacular. A stream near the site we stayed provided drinking water.

Nice groups of camps sites, fire rings, Pit toilets, felt safe, no ATT cell service.

Report Check-In

Nice sites, fire rings, at&t cell service, felt safe we saw the Sharif patrolling :) every site was filled by 6pm on a Friday.

Great spot. It was clean when I came through. No winter access. Some trails within a short drive.

There are 6 free campsites along the road. The turn around at the end of the road is extremely steep. We live in a converted 40 School Bus (Skoolie). We tow a Jeep Wrangler behind us. My wife drove the Jeep ahead of the bus. There is a wide spot in the road before the turn around. If I had not traveled across the whole United States in our bus, I would not have had the skill to turn it around before the loop at the end. Be aware of that if you are in an RV or bus. Sites have fire rings made of stones/rocks. No other amenities are here. Sites are not really level so bring leveling blocks if you are in an rv.

Great spot to camp. All sites are fairly large and flat. Beautiful spot to see the leaves change and the stars at night.

Report Check-In

Difficult accès but very quiet in the nature

Report Check-In

Every site taken by Hill Billies. Maybe because it is weekend.

Report Check-In
