Description

beautyful place next to the river. privat access with a nice walk to a little waterfall. Need 4x4 ! especially when it is wett (humido). Big rigs wont fit, but I guess medium will be all right.
Luis Manuel is a very kind man. He has a small cafetería (streetrestaurant). He intend to put internet in the next month.

Beautiful little spot to camp. We stayed 2 nights in our rig and rtt. There is a nice spit along the river for tent camping. Luis has a little comedor where he serves dishes to all the passersby on the way to and from Pozo Azul. It's a 10 minute walk to the pozo, along the way, there is also a lady named Marguerit who owns Faunal and allows access to her property for birdwatching. 30k pesos per person. The area is beautiful and on Luis's property, he has access to a waterfall that you can swim in and there's hardly anyone there. Camping is 55k pesos per pair per night and you have access to use the front kitchen and fridge, cold water showers with high pressure (it's cold up there at night so you might want to take your shower early.) There's not a lot of room for parking larger vehicles, we have a Toyota Landcruiser 100 series and were able to fit well, but anything bigger would have trouble. The roads to access it are passable with 4x4 or motorcycle. The drop off to get from town to the dirt road is quite big, so high clearance is a must. Luis is super kind and accommodating and speaks a little English. Beware!!! The biting gnats and mosquitoes are fierce! Be prepared to wear bug spray or long clothes! The evenings cool off quite nicely, making sleeping conditions ideal. There is no wifi, Claro is hit or miss. You can ask Luis if you can connect to his phone hotspot for a short period if you need it. This is a place to unwind and disconnect from the world and just be in nature.
