A ranger came to tell me that it was forbidden to spend the night in the national park. I had to leave the place. If you have a car you can stay (at your own risk) but in a van it will not be allowed.

Report Check-InAT trailhead & popular stop for travelers, so it's pretty busy during the day. We stayed along w 3 other stealth sleepers & a van. No one bothered us. Flush toilets but no sinks/water. **Chimney picnic area down the road does have sinks w water if you need to wash up**Waking up to the sunrise over the smoky mts is amazing. 3 bars verizon. A section in the lot is designated for larger rigs(rvs/campers) added photos
Report Check-InVery nice spot to car camp. It gets pretty lonely at night so it's peaceful and quiet. Some people commented that they got asked to leave but when I slept here there were 4 or 5 cars doing the same. Beautiful views!
Report Check-InGot knocked by a cop and asked to leave. Technically you’re not allowed to park overnight anywhere inside the park, and this is inside the park. You may luck out, but we didn’t.
Report Check-InStayed here for a night. Beautiful view for sunrise in the morning. Intermittent cell service 1-2 bars LTE on ATT but not much would load. Restrooms a short walk from the parking lot..relatively nice, no sinks just hand sanitizer
Report Check-InCamped overnight in this parking lot. Lots of other cars and another conversion van doing the same. Designated spaces for a medium sized rv or smaller. Nice view. Didn’t see any signs against overnight parking. Good Verizon service.
