Description

Beautiful beach by old abandoned fishing buildings. Not as far as the others. But it's where gps will bring you if you looking for the sea lions and arch. No one else just a few motor homes that look like permanent residence now. Lots of dead things though. A baby dauphin and bones that I assume are left from the hurricane and may sting rays and shark heads from local fishermen. Max called this Fukushima beach. But lots of awesome shells and sand dollars. Asked the cops in town and one lady and they said it was safe. A small road the goes to the right on the beach. Where I assume the sea lions are. Use 4x4 if you drive on the beach. The sand is very fine and our truck got stuck. But is a nice place with on one in site. Gets very cold at night even in late April we Had to put a hoodie on the dog. Also the wind off the lagoon is very wet. Make sure your gear is waterproof.

Wonderful place, Antoni is a super nice guy. Safe & clean, outstanding beach. Free but pls donate to him

This place is great! I will keep it on my list to return to. A few things: The sand is definitely deeper and more fine then you’d expect - air down and use four-wheel-drive if you’re trying to go down some of the side roads; you definitely need to be careful about where you camp as the water level comes much higher than you’d expect; this is definitely a fishing area so you will find the bones and other parts of animals - awesome and a bit challenging I’d you have dogs who like to snack or roll on dead things! Tony and the woman he was with, Carmen, are incredibly friendly and beach was absolutely fantastic! PS, it’s cold and windy so bring warm clothes :)

Report Check-In

Wide open area with lots of camping options. It was windy and about 50F and we were car camping so we pulled in behind a dune near the building. The wind stopped by midnight and it was foggy/cloudy and about 60 F. Semana Santa brought a few families but they were all quiet by 9 or 10 so we slept very peacefully. As suggested we brought dog food. 5 underweight momma dogs with ribs showing live there. There were two small male pups in need of veterinary care, a tumor and mange . They were very respectful and one was particularly kind and friendly. They do bark at other dogs however. The Security/caretaker there Tony was nice and asked us to spread the word as not many people go there except on holidays. Great for sea shells and lobster when in season! Fishermen come and will sell you fish or whatever they have at the time. Great place if you want a cooler temperature!

Nice spot. Some friendly, but very skinny dogs. Please bring some dogfood!

Report Check-In

tried to get to the sea lion spot but got stuck in our doolie short bus, parked on the beach instead. it was quite and no one else was there. it's just last the abandoned buildings. Be careful though because you might think you are far away from the tide but it comes up around and loops around that little island there. there's also so many abandoned dogs there :( don't know if anyone feeds them but we gave them some food so sad

Report Check-In

Came out to check out the Sea Lion Cove. The road past this point was sketchy for our vehicle, so we camped at the lagoon and hiked out to the cove.

Report Check-In

Road is fine to any vehicle, hard sandroad 11 km from the village, at the end, pass the Fishermen Houses right, than it is sand softer, you have to check, how far you can go with your car, the place itself is amazing, some poor friendly dogs, lots of birds , saw some whale blas, 20 min walk to the lighthouse, 15 min more to the arch/sealions. sunrise is nice here, some flies

Report Check-In

Beautiful vast open beach on the pacific to break up the drive. Followed the dirt road all the way to the beach. Nice friendly man living in his Old RV on the right when you arrive at the beach. He had about ten animals (mostly dogs, a cat and chicken) that looked borderline starving. We left him some food (he was grateful) but wished we had left some dog food as well. Walked the beach. Collected a full bag of trash to pack out. Found sand dollars & star fish . Would stay here overnight but we were looking to make more miles on the road. Definitely will be back.

Report Check-In

As far as we could go with our 24 foot class c. As described. Explored in our jeep. Beautiful area. Occasional cell service. Road in washboard but firm.

Report Check-In

Nice quiet evening ...camped on the bluff above the beach enjoyed this stop...

Report Check-In

Lovely spot, muy tranquilo. The road getting here was slow, but it's worth it. Also, watch out for the sand if you try to turn around a big vehicle by the platform at the top of the small hill! The area next to the road looks deceptively firm, but it's easy to get stuck in the sand there. Surprisingly, had 1-2 bars of Telcel service.

Report Check-In

Tried to go but I think because of the recent rain there were some extra gooey mud spots in the road and didn’t want to get stuck with trailer behind us. 4x4 and no trailer would’ve been fine!

Report Check-In

Very windy at the top of the hill as we didn’t want to risk getting stuck on the beach. Really beautiful sunset.

Report Check-In

If you made it past the 12km of washboard road to get here, you'll probably be greeted by the fishermen. Keep going past, it can get sandy but the first few sites were accessible with 2wd after solid rains. The road gets tougher to the arch and sea lion cove. We hiked there the next morning. This is an amazing place. Pack out more trash than you brought and keep this amazing place free, wild, and beautiful.

Report Check-In

We got stuck on the beach here trying to go past the structure at the end of the road. The sand is finer than it looks! As we were digging out, 3 fishermen came over and helped us push the van. Super nice guys. We gave them some beer to show our appreciation. They told us to pull in beside their hut and to stay as long as we’d like. Antonio knocked on our van that night to give us some homemade seafood stew. 🤤

We didn’t see any other reasonable places to park near the water for 2WD vehicles other than right beside them.

If you have solid 4x4 and can continue up the road, there are two awesome spots up the hill overlooking the bay. Both are occupied by longer term visitors at the moment but you might get lucky.

Report Check-In

Nice place overlooking Bahia Manuela near an abandoned house and some permanent campers. The dirtroad to the bay is very washboardy but fine with any RV, the sandy track behind the house and further up the hill the to arch and sea lion cove was hard packed at the time of our visit but 4 WD is necessary.

Report Check-In

Salut very nice place! just continue the road after the last building, there is nice place in front of the beach with hard sand!

30min hike for the arche and sea lions

Report Check-In

stayed here near the old trailer (now home of 🐝) and took a hike to the sea lions. there was only one and this was maybe hurt from fishernets.
the fishermen were really friendly and early in the morning of with there boats. a guard keeps watching after the boats at night. felt really safe there. Road is washboard the first and last 2km. sand is lose at the end which doesn't give you too many choices to park with a 2wd

Report Check-In

Stayed on the hard packed sand top of beach. Access road out there is easy for any vehicle. Nice hike out to the arch and sea lions. Friendly security guard. Water was good for swimming. Good place for a quiet night.

Report Check-In

Nice security guy that was looking over the fishermen boats. He let us sleep next to his spot. He even gave us fish to cook. The arch and sea lion area was awesome. We had the beach to ourselves. Amazing :)
The road to get there is not the best though but similar to the rest of Baja !!

Report Check-In

As described, beautiful and wide beach with a couple of „longterm residents“ in older RVs. The road was a bit rough, but no 4x4 or high clearance needed, just go slow if you don’t like the washboard. Can get windy and cold though once the sun sets. We bought shrimps & lobster from the fishermen on the beach. Cell service for TelCel & Moviestar available!
If you continue to the sealion rock it gets sandy, so 4x4 required and you probably have to air down

Report Check-In

We slept here for one night because and didn't want to go further with our camper as the road is less good after.
This is a really nice place where we felt safe. We met Juan who lives in the abbandonned fisherman building in the beach. He was really nice and also ask if we wanted to use his shower.
We walked to see the arch which is at 40 min by feet but it totally worth it. The beach is amazing and the arch looks so good. If you pass the arch you can see the sea lions. Awesome place!

Report Check-In

We had a quiet night and beautiful sunset/ sunrise just next to the fishing huts on the "platform". Only met the nice fishermen, who are also willing to tow your car out, if you get stuck in the sand ;)
To get to the beach it is 9km washingboard road, so take your time.

We walked the way to the sea lion cove and arch since that way requires 4x4 for sure. It is beautiful though and worth the 30min walk.

Report Check-In

Very nice quiet beach. We were the only people on the beach and we only ran in to the local fishermen on our way out. Trash and fresh dead sea animals were minimal and the locals have placed signs asking visitors to keep it clean--so pack out your trash you filthy animals! A very persistent rattlesnake was occupying the road on our walk over to the sea lion cove so we can't compare this spot with the cove. The dirt road in was very washboarded but the beach sand was firm and did not necessitate deflating our tires.

Report Check-In

very nice place at the lagoon. very windy and it is better you stay at the "platform" so you don't stuck in the sand. you can buy at the fishing man fresh fish and lobster. very quiet at night.

Report Check-In

Forget the idea of going on further than this beach without 4 wheels drives. Though it's worth to get over there just to see the sea lions and have a glance to this magnificent scenery. Perfect spot for a free and on your own experience. From here, you'll have to walk around 35 minutes to the cove (last ioverlander spot). The sea lions are behind it and you can get pretty close to them.

Secluded, we were the only ones camping here. At night fishermen kept driving to the beach to get from/to their boats.
