Description

Nice lot off the main road for a nights stay. Great views of the mountains. used a a parking lot of Kayakers and Conoers. Next to train tracks, train passed by a few times during the night but didn't bother us. Free water and sewer dump down the street. good for larger RV or if other side of damn is full.

Large gravel lot by the river and immediately* beside the active train tracks. Train operators do honk every time they go by. We got used to it but be aware it's several times over night. Minimal snow this winter but when it did, they did not plow it for several days. Very private and quiet otherwise. Stayed 3 nights no problem because it is outside provincial park boundaries.

very calm big gravel lot, stood here with 10 others one night. nice to have the river nearby, only the train passend by and honking every time. Will definitely wake you up a couple of times. great for big Riggs, in a corner probably even for a tent. next pit toilet is at middle lake trail head 7 min drive away

Busy spot! Does the trick. Felt safe here. ROADIE is hanging around to give company 🐕

Report Check-In

Stayed here for about a week while doing some hiking in Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise. Nice place next to the river, it can get pretty busy though and the train definitely woke me up every night, but other than that it was a nice spot

Report Check-In

Super spot.

car lot is fine. were maybe 5 others here but everyone was quiet and friendly. river/dam is nice, good for a quick swim. trains are right next to the lot so can be quite noisy but didn't disturb us between 10pm and 6am.

Beautiful spot with lots of room - popular with many campers. Train is close and veerrrry loud on the horn frequently in the day, passed twice overnight between 12-1am. I forgot my camp chair here and returned less than an hour later and it was gone - if you are a camper who took it please write me @eschfld on IG. :(

All as described. The stray pooch will herd you in and keep an eye on things and oh the trains....noisy, 6 trains in 8 hours over night. Regardless a good place to stay if coming in or out of Banff.

Report Check-In

Even nicer spot just the other side of the river.
The river is easily accessible for swimming. On the other hand, the whistling train is very noisy. A few stray dogs may come to visit you

Report Check-In

Fills up quick with vans and RVs at the end of the day. Good spot, train is a little loud but the views make up for it.

Said hello to the stray dog. The Bow Valley Campground is just down the street where you can dump and fill water.

Decent sized lot can accommodate all sizes of cars or RVs. The train is loud and passes maybe 4 or 5 times a day and once or twice during the night. You can even jump off the bridge into the water, it's surpassingly deep.

As mentioned there is a stray dog here, we nicknamed her 'Roadie' because she litterslly just wanders the road back and forth across the bridge between the rest stop areas. She is super timid and shy, shes afraid of other dogs. Over the space of 4 days we weren't even able to get close enough to pet her or catch her to try take her to a local SPCA or something. She doesn't mind a little snack.

nice spot by the river— trains are really loud as this spot is right next to the tracks.

there is a stray dog that lives here/on the res. she is gentle and loves a snack. she apparently has been here for a while. i tried to lure her with the intention of taking her to a shelter/convincing my boyfriend to keep her but she is a wild dog and loves her freedom. i’ve been here 3 nights now trying to befriend this dog unsuccessfully.

i have noticed quite a few campers cross the bridge into the reservation. i’m pretty sure that’s not allowed and one could cop a hefty fine for doing so.

anyway, this is a lovely spot and hope u enjoy it

Stayed one night here on the way to Banff. Couple our cars were parked here as well. You have road noise and the train came late at night and early morning, this didn’t bother us. Good spot for a quick stop and rest.

stayed there a week. leaving the day coming back at night. did spend full days there due to intense rain. no one bothered. the train is REALLY beside and does pass often but you get used to it. the water is amazing, so is the view. dump station really close. not too far from Canmore. you can easily launch your kayak or paddleboard.

Okay spot for the night. Some noice from the road and train tracks but not often over night (didn’t disturb our sleep). No signs saying no parking. Only other people there a couple of fishermen. Good free spot for starting or finishing ice-field parkway.

Report Check-In

OK for one night, bring earplugs for the road and train noise. some people fishing in the afternoon. Once you drive in head left towards the bridge underpass for a spor which is a little more tucked in, but we felt quite exposed with our tent here. The entrance for the river walk towards the willow campsite which others have mentioned is over the tracks at 51.0931105, -115.0618955.

Suitable for a night. The trains are no joke. This place is fine for a night just be prepared for the train horns.

Report Check-In

Nice parking next to the road, train track and a small bridge. Stayed there with a couple of camping van and a tent.

Many trains pass through the night, not a problem for us.

River water is nice to soak and refresh yourself.

Report Check-In

The train was noisy in the evening but good for one night

Report Check-In

great spot just off the highway however the trains are VERY loud and went all night.
theres a nice walk, if you hop over the tracks, that takes you to a look out bench and a loop walk round some beaver habitat.
DON'T cross the bridge over the river, it's Indian reserve land and a local told me he got an $800 fine for trespassing!!!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In
