About a dozen established campsites, each overlooking the water. Most with picnic tables and fire rings. Free! Don’t pay to go into the reserve, instead turn left just before the pay station. Turn right at the next road and enjoy. Two bars LTE for T-Mobile and Verizon :)
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Quiet and dispersed camping loop. Not busy or crowded, but very flat without large bushes or trees so you can clearly see campers at other spots on the loop and around the reservoir. Well maintained vault toilet. A LOT of bugs, but not mosquitoes. Got a little gusty overnight. Overall was a great spot to camp for the night!
Report Check-InAs stated, free campsite compliments of dept of interior….it’s a bit breezy. Spots are spaced well apart, newish picnic tables, fire pits, pit toilet kind of a walk away. Came on Sat late afternoon in late sept - only a few folks.
