Description

Little Habour & boat launch

Great place to swim and stay the night. Mostly rocky beach areas though. Have stayed here a few times over a few months during our stay in Gander.

Don’t overstay your welcome and ruin it for everyone else. Don't litter, there is plenty of garbage around.

Far enough from highway that it’s peaceful at night. Sound of water and wind only. Very very windy for tent camping- bring lots of tie-downs.

2-3 bars of service

Superbe endroit. Calme. Vue magnifique. Grand espace sur le bord du lac. Aller tout au fond à droite des quais.

Beautiful place with lots of spots to choose also a little bit crowded during the day but just friendly people. Quite at night.

Great place to spend the night or several days.
At the water's edge. Several spotlights.
It can be steep access for caravan or other but we had no problem with our class B of 22 '
Please keep this place clean.

This is a really beautiful site - one of the best I've ever camped at! Lots of locals coming and going but everyone polite and nothing negative. Almost no garbage either. My only caution is that getting from the highway to this site is a long drive down some steep inclines on a pretty rough gravel road. Not sure I could have gotten back up without having a 4WD when towing a 20' travel trailer.

Also, the loop around the lakefront area is small and had a very large deep puddle with rocks sticking out one part. We camped in a spot before reaching that so didn't need to try get through it. But the locals seemed to drive through and around it OK. If there are already people camped at the lake sites you would probably have to camp in the parking lot which was OK but surprisingly busy with people coming and going with boats and jet skis right until dark.

Very quiet area during the week, can see it being much busier on the weekends. Fire pits everywhere king the beach and in woods. Plenty of parking for 10+ vehicles around the loops. Water front spots. Very very windy bring extra tie downs if tent camping. Plenty of garbages around please don't litter like many others

As stated before, lots of camping spots. Nice and quiet. Spent the night here. Picked up garbage and tons of cigarette butts.

Several spots to pull in right up on the lake. Parked by a pole that hopefully has a non-functional light on it. Some litter on the beach and in the woods suggests that some local partying goes on here. Internet 28/208 Mbps up/down. Wow. A lot of wind across the lake today making crashing waves on the rocky beach.

This is a sweet spot! Lots if potential sites. On the rocky shoreline if a huge lake.
Glad I ventured down here. Down 2.5 km gravel road with the usual potholes but totally doable in any vehicle.
Outhouses are kind of hidden but they do exist and are clean and even have toilet paper. Boat launch and two docks.

Great place with quite a few choices of where to setup your rig/ tent. Can find a few spaces for larger rigs as well. Very quiet, though the places farthest out at the sea's edge can get a little windy.

Beautiful place. Quiet. Nice views. Fire rings. Trash receptacles.

Probably one of my most favourite spots in Newfoundland so far. Fire pits ready, garbage is in the area water to go for a good swim. So peaceful and quiet.

Lots of space to park along the lake, 1 other van there. We pitched a tent and had no issues. Great spot.

Great stop for the night (or in our case 2, since we were waiting to get an oil change appointment in Grand Falls Windsor) while traveling across NF on the Trans-Can. About 10 km from all the shopping in Gander and a much better alternative to staying at Walmart.
Individual sites for van size or smaller campers with trash can at each site and toilets centrally located. Larger rigs could park in the flat area when just arriving at the lake. Locals came to fish and swim while we were there.

About four or five different places you can park a decent size rv/ van/ trailer or tent. Boat launch. Outhouses. Garbage bins here during summer months. Rocky shores, mostly quiet. Some locals drive around the area but it’s quiet at night. Can stay overnight without issues. Have stayed here multiple nights without any issues

Here we are at the Gander Lake. It is 56 km long and several kilometers at its maximum width and is 274 meters deep.
We settle for the very beautiful little bay on the right.
Falling asleep to the sound of the waves is true happiness!

We picked one of the farthest out spots. Very quiet, nice view of Gander Lake. 3 kilometers of very dusty road to the site followed by rough trail to farthest out spot, well worth the very slow speed to make it. Good for 24 foot RV at the out spots, larger RVs at the entrance of the small marina. Great cell phone reception.
