Description

After hours of searching for a spot that has everything - great coverage, close to portable water, gas station, restaurants and out and away at the same time! Unobstructed views of Mt. Siegel. Sunsets are amazing! Oh This is BLM land and Verizon and ATT network is absolutely perfect. I work remotely and on vpn and it’s the best I’ve found in a very long time. Checked with the local ranger and he confirmed that it’s blm land. I used FreeRoam to add a layer for BLM and double checked. Lots of spots.

I’m in a 20ft trailer and coming in was a breeze. Big rigs can drive through just fine but come slow and take Mustang Ln and then cut through the tiny roads from there since Mustang Ln is pretty level and clean. Enter through the fairgrounds side - it’s a longer dirt road to drive through if you come from the other way. Set your GPS to the douglas county fairgrounds and set your gps again from there so that you can get through the best roads. Lots of spots around. 0.5 miles to the Fairgrounds where there’s a fire staging area setup so there’s rangers and law enforcement around but never around the blm land. Quite safe.

Please keep it clean. Pack in and pack out. Let’s save this for future travelers. I’ll add pictures tomorrow.

I’m planning on staying for a month so stop by and say hi! I have a dog but we don’t bite haha

Happy camping! Peace.

Felt a little sketchy to be out in the open but was a wonderful spot with an amazing view of the mountains and no one was around or gave any trouble at all. Dirt roads were more than fine to get there.

Good spot for the area. Quiet on a Wednesday besides some coyotes.
I actually came back to this same spot for a 2nd night after exploring south of Tahoe all day.
Fast strong AT&T.

Once again, great place! Open. 7min to Walmart, and 7min to water at the local truck stop.

As described. Will spend a couple weeks here.

locals backyard. this spot had a lot of promise but so many locals walking their dogs off leash. our puppy got attacked by a guy that parked right next to us when there's so much room to park anywhere else. very irresponsible people around these parts.

pros: free. good connection, 3 4 bars t mobile.

cons: you're way out in the open. you can see many houses around this spot and it's obvious the people that live here use this as their backyards.

we wanted to stay for a week but ended up staying only a night and leaving in the morning. good for a night and the dirt road is not too bad. we made it here no problem in our 24ft rv.

Tons of places to park! Great service and pretty quiet! Nice views

as desribed. a bit dusty at times. Driving might be problematic if soil is wet. east access via east valley road ( go to end near merino cir.) we had no problem with 21 ft long tall van .

we were really not impressed with this spot. contrary to the other post it is not close to anything. the road in was super bumpy. nothing to really look at. just dirt and small brush. mountains in the distance. super open and awkward. we did not stay went the little ways down the road the "nice spot in the river" post. so much happier here.

Beautiful place! Descriptions are accurate. Lovey Mountain view.

Directions to this place were spot on. Verizon is a solid 4 bars and I don't see any issues other than it is dusty but the breeze is nice compared to the CA heat.
