Nice place on the beach, quiet, nice view on the sea.
Access through los hornos village, take the off road track going to the beach

Good news. There is now tent village anymore but a lot of leftovers and rubbish along the way.
Path to this pinpoint seems blocked with rocks though
There is now a kind of (permanent?) tent village all down the beach which I assume wasn’t here before. This means parking at the first pin is not really possible as you’d be right in the middle of it. You can still park here but not as peaceful as it was! If you have 4x4 you could continue on to somewhere quieter but the road past this point is deep sand. This point can easily be reached with 2wd drive though. We stayed one night and it was fine, but there are better options for a longer stay.
Report Check-InNos sentimos seguros. É um local tranquilo e bonito, porém sem estrutura. Cuidado para não atolar!!!
Report Check-InThis could have been a wondeful place, but there is trash everywhere. We arrived late so spent the night nonetheless. It was quiet and there are several spots in the dunes along the dirt road. It did the job for one night, but would not recommend longer - too much litter all around.
Report Check-InTypo in below post ***our 2WD made it through the bumpy road just not in sand when we turned off of it****
Report Check-InAlthough there is trash, we found this place to be beautiful! Our 2WD did not made it through the bumpy road but we unfortunately got stuck when we tried pulling off the road into sand. So stay on road! A local was so kind and helped us out and he even invited us to go the next day, really great people in the town! The parasailing spot is just right above the beach on the dune it was gorgeous. We also explored the interesting rock and dune features during a walk.
Report Check-InSuper dirty beach. Everywhere you look: trash. Beer cans, plastic bottles, old matrasses, lots of toilet paper and thousands of flies. We stayed for one night because we were tiered of driving, but we would definitely not recommend this place. Unless you like to organize a major beach clean up whilst staying here.
Report Check-Injust as described. Follow the road from the town, it's a bit bumpy though. Along the way to the beach there are a lot of places for tents or cars. The beach itself is probably too sandy for tents. Overall really nice place close to La Serena.
Report Check-InNice as described. I tried to get there following Maps.me, taking the turn towards Chungungo but the road down to the beach has a gate. Make sure to go to Los Hornos then down to the beach and over. Enjoy!
Report Check-InWe spend the night on the road before the beach. Quiet night with the sound of waves and we felt safe. Nice view and fresh air during the night.
Report Check-InMany possible wild campings, it depends up to you what you prefer - people, sand, stones... during weekend cozld be crowdy, but people are nice and just want to relax on the beach. If the conditions are good There is a paragliding school coming on weekend and jumping from the nearest hill, so great people! I recommend to go and meet them :-)
Report Check-InVery nice place for the night, take the road at los Hornos, don't follow map.me. Many place to your choice, no sand if you stay on the road.
Report Check-InTo get here coming from the north / leave to La Serena you can take a shortcut. About 20 meters before the exit to Los Hornos from the highway there is a gate, it was open when we left so we could get onto the 5 without having to go all the way back into the village again!
Report Check-InWe didn’t like the spot at the pier and went to the beach instead. We stayed right in the beginning. There was some trash but not too bad so maybe they clean it up once in a while. No problem with 2wd. Beautiful beach to walk the dog. And you hear the sound of the crashing waves. Few people in the evening and gauchos passing by in the morning. Also some lovely stray dogs decided to guard us overnight. Give them some water if you can they were very thirsty. In the village center there is slow public WiFi.
Report Check-Insadly this place is full of trash. really horrible. there is the possibility to camp up into the hill but in some parts the sand is very deep, pay attention!
Report Check-InKeep going down the dirt road to a spot you like. On my bicycle I flund a huge boulder on the beach to rest my bicycle against and pitch my tent near. It was an amazing sunset, I felt like I was on the shores of India for some reason.
Report Check-Inthe beach was occupied by travelling people and turned out to be very dirty and a bit creepy. we found a better place in town. the location might have been ok otherwise...what a pity!
Report Check-InIt's was already dark, so we just pitch the tent on the beach of the village Los Hornos No facilities, clean, quiet (even for a Saturday night!).
Report Check-InNice place on the beach, quite, nice view on the sea.
