on the right side of the road, large logs have been laid across the entrance to the dirt lot. i'm assuming campers were getting in the way of logging. on the left side of the road, it's still a very clearly active logging operation site, with nowhere to park where you *wouldn't* be in the way of loggers in the morning.
Report Check-Inactive logging going on starting at 4am. someone knocked on our van and told us we were on private property and had to move around 6am.
Report Check-InStayed here for one night and had a couple of other campers join us throughout the evening. It is a great pull off with a good amount of privacy. When we first arrived, there were loggers across the street leaving. They were back at around 4am and got to work. The other campers left, probably because of the noise. We left around 8am as the noise didn’t bother us too much. All around a great spot off of 101!
Report Check-InA nice and quiet pull off, there is some traffic during the day but was completely quiet at night.
Report Check-InQuiet spot, pretty flat. 2-3 bars of Verizon service. Heard a couple cars go by after 6am, otherwise just nature.
Report Check-InSecluded pullout off Dyerville road was quiet, spacious and relatively clean for the night. Some precious campers left a bit of a trace in a DIY port-o-potty but it was easy to avoid that corner of the lot. Lined with poison oak all along the bushes but again, easy to avoid.
Report Check-InReally nice and quite little level dirt spot right outside the hustle and bustle of the forest. We heard frogs, and crickets all evening, maybe a few larger animals too. Hardly any car traffic whatsoever. Enough space for 3-4 larger vans. A full size bus did pull in late and just hardly fit. I picked up several alcohol bottles upon arrival. Please keep this quite and clean, it’s one of few in this area that haven’t been closed yet.
Report Check-InIf you’re visiting the “Avenue of the Giants” and need a place to park for the night, visit “Founder’s Grove” (a beautiful grove with restrooms, short easy trails, it’s free, great for for day use) then continue east on Dyerville Rd for about a mile and exit the Humboldt Redwoods State Patk boundary. you’ll find several pull offs suitable for cars/vans. For larger rigs, there are gravel lots just as you exit the park, no signs. I stayed without a problem.
