Something not right?

Description

Just beyond the parking area for the Methodist trails you are in BLM land with 3 bars of Verizon LTE. I stopped at the first pull off with a RWD camper van - road keeps going up beyond this spot but it looks pretty bumpy

Dispersed BLM Dispersed Camping, close to Salida, CO and near mountain bike trails.

Report Check-In

Do not attempt with a promaster van or anything with limited clearance. Almost got stuck twice and I barely reached the first pullout. Lots of cacti and unfriendly plants too.

Peaceful campground. As others mentioned, bumpy road in, but take it slow w/2wd & you’ll be ok. 2-4 bars Verizon. Extremely convenient to town. She me road noise in this spot, but not enough to bother.

Report Check-In

Go for this place! And stay longer than a night cause Salida is quite a vibe! We drove in at night, the road is pretty bumpy the Sprinter made it just fine. We actually stayed right by Race Track Trail alongside another van. Definitely recommend!

Road in is quite rough and I'd imagine it's hard to navigate here after dark, but was able to snag a spot right after the first camping sign. Not much competition for space in early winter conditions

Report Check-In

Stayed here about a week because we really liked Salida! Spots were nice, plenty of neighbors but lots of spots to choose from. Did fill up on the weekend. 2-3 bars Verizon and quiet during the day.

Report Check-In

Pulled up at dark to this place and it was difficult to navigate because there's so many different roads. From what it looked like, there were people camped long-term in the first spot. People near us were yelling and fighting for hours and we decided to leave at 11PM because my partner and I were sketched out. Out of 4 months of vanlife, I've never left a spot before because I didn't feel safe so that is saying something. I guess it mostly depends on who is staying there with you.
